Long post- but stick with me!
As we come up on six months in business, there is a lot I have learned about myself, about small businesses, and especially about the community!
I am a glutton for punishment. I like stress, at least a decent amount. There is a very thin line between good stress and the breaking point and I’m getting a fairly good sense about where that line is. There will be no harsher critic than me, especially when it comes to mistakes. And I make them! In the past two weeks I have shorted loyal customers twice- how hard is it to count to 6?!? 🤦♀️. I delivered bagels to the wrong customer- ugh what a gut punch! Mistakes will undoubtedly continue to happen but l learn from them each time and will continue to improve our processes.
That brings me to this amazing community of Grand Island. WOW- what loyal, supportive and patient people we have living here on the island. In each of these mistakes that were 100% my fault, you guys allowed me to make it right and were polite and patient throughout the process. As a small business, every customer matters and I truly appreciate the ongoing support.
Small business is HARD. Marketing is HARD. Every engagement on every post means more than you could imagine.
I wanted to share this to let you all know how grateful I am of the journey so far and continue to look forward to putting bagels on everyone’s table!
