After much consideration and many tears, I am turning off the ovens of my lil cottage bakery on 4/29/2024.

Strawberry on top and vanilla sponge on bottom, the birthday girl likes mint green, pink, and succulents. It seems so grown up for the little girl I remember from just a few years ago. This elegant and sophisticated cake is filled with whipped white chocolate, frosted in salted vanilla buttercream, and adorned with edible gold.

The mom gave me the invitation & budget and let me run with it. A big cost savings is a pre-made topper. This one was purchased on Amazon for $7, a fraction of the cost of sculpting (but I’ll do whichever you prefer). Adding shapes and colors to coordinate with the invite lands this cake on target. Such a fun party! They even had a dinosaur slide!

A Top Golf party for a guy that loves the green requires a golf ball cake. The half ball pan coupled with an 8” single layer offers 24 cupcake equivalent servings of vanilla sponge cake. Salted vanilla buttercream in a grass green, the golf ball in a ‘just off’ white, with the scorecard and Titleist in a thin edible image makes this cake fondant free. Happy FOREteenth birthday, John!

Fondant sculpting, design software, edible images, and even Etsy, I will do everything I can to bring your vision to the table (see what I did there?). From his first birthday to the third birthday that was just celebrated, all of these have been incorporated at some point for Charlie’s cakes. Watching the kiddos change from year to year is an absolute favorite and might be the biggest joy I get from my little bakery business. Thank you, , for letting me enjoy all the things! And I can’t wait until Shawn‘s birthday!

An Elyce cake with a smooth delivery? Wahoo! Ya girls finally made it happen! Once again, I’m in love with the design 🐓 ❤️ I made my own template for the chicken wire by using tin snips to cut then bend an old cookie cutter. I pressed the design into the pale pink buttercream and diluted black food gel with vanilla for the ‘paint.’ The chickens were printed on wafer paper for a thin/vintage pencil sketch look and then ‘glued’ onto fondant before placing on the cake. She gives me free rein for the finishing touches and I couldn’t resist adding more girly charm with some flowers and a rose gold happy birthday pick. My favorite flavors have been the top order lately; a layer of raspberry on top of the whipped white chocolate filling in the same bite with vanilla sponge cake and salted vanilla buttercream …its the best combination of tart, sweet, creamy buttery goodness! …but then, my wafer paper pulled all the moisture from the fondant, curled and hardened. 😭 UGH!!! Never too old for more learnin’ I guess. Happy birthday, precious friend!! Can we just pretend that the chickens bowed to the birthday princess? 🤷🏻‍♀️ 😚

Many prayers have been said for the family celebrating their new baby girl. The tiny gift has proven to be a fighter, meeting goals and surpassing doctors’ expectations! I can’t wait to meet her and then to make her first birthday cake! The cake for her baby shower, vanilla sponge with whipped white chocolate filling with a layer of raspberry preserves and salted vanilla buttercream in the palest pink, had a drape styled bow to match the theme. We skipped the raspberry in the cupcakes for a bit of variety. Celebrating you, Princess Charleston!
