AN IMPORTANT message to my employees
Team,
I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about whether I should send this message or not.
Honestly, there are some things that have been bothering me lately, and I felt like it needed to be addressed.
I’ve watched people come in tired. I’ve watched people struggle through long shifts. I’ve watched mistakes happen. I’ve watched days when things weren’t perfect. I’ve watched moments when we were slammed, overwhelmed, understaffed, and stretched thin.
And if I’m being completely honest…
I’ve also noticed something else.
I’ve noticed people staying late when they didn’t have to.
I’ve noticed people helping coworkers when nobody asked them to.
I’ve noticed people serving customers with a smile even when their own day wasn’t going great.
I’ve noticed people showing up.
Day after day.
Week after week.
Month after month.
In a world where it’s easy to quit, easy to complain, and easy to stop caring, I’ve watched a team that continues to give their best.
Now, I know some of you are probably reading this wondering, “Uh oh… where is this going?”
Trust me, I wanted you to think that for a minute. 😂
The truth is, this message isn’t because I’m disappointed.
It’s because I’m grateful.
Running a business isn’t easy. There are days that are stressful. There are days that are exhausting. There are days when customers only see the coffee, tea, shakes, and smiles—but they never see the hard work behind the scenes.
But I do.
I see the early mornings.
I see the cleaning.
I see the stocking.
I see the prep work.
I see the teamwork.
I see the sacrifices.
And I want every one of you to know that it does not go unnoticed.
You are the reason customers come back.
You are the reason our atmosphere feels welcoming.
You are the reason people tell their friends about us.
You are the reason this place is special.
Could we all improve? Of course.
Can we continue getting better? Absolutely.
But today isn’t about what needs fixing.
Today is about saying thank you.
Thank you for caring.
Thank you for working hard.
Thank you for putting up with my random ideas.
Thank you for dealing with the crazy rushes.
Thank you for representing this business well.
Most of all, thank you for being part of this team.
So if your heart rate went up at the beginning of this message, congratulations—you’ve just experienced what I call “manager-sponsored anxiety.” 😂
Now take a deep breath.
You’re not in trouble.
In fact, you’re appreciated more than you know.
Let’s keep growing, keep improving, keep serving people well, and keep building something we’re proud of together.
Love you guys.
Now get back to work before I actually have to send a serious message. 😆☕
