Brandi’s Story
Here's my story, I'm only 42 I'm a grandmother, a mother of a 18, 21, 22 yr old and I have 2 grandbabies. I love what I do for a living in healthcare. I work a ton of hours and don't take a lot of time for myself to take myself to the doctor. So I was gearing up for a second knee replacement and decided I need to get overall check up on everything. Had some testing done or March 16th I found out I had cervical cancer on April 9th I found out I had advanced cervical cancer stage 4 that has traveled to my lungs, my bladder, my kidneys. I can tell you the percentage isn't very good after cervical cancer travels onto your other organs. I started chemo right away I spend two very long hard days and a chair every 20 days within a week I lost all my hair as of right now the picture looks like six long months of chemo pet scans to see where we are and we go from there. I got a port put in to make it easier on my veins for my treatment and my lab work. There's nothing easy about chemo and and fighting cancer. I took a leave from work to focus on myself and this crazy disease that they call the silent killer it snuck up on me and turned my life into a storm. I have an amazing support team behind me. There's a benefit being thrown for me to help the cost of all of this.
