A little update from Riddle Hill Homestead! Starting Monday, October 19, I’ll be taking a break from baking cookies to rest a bit and do some reorganizing behind the scenes.

We’ll still have donuts and drinks while baking is paused, so stop by for a treat!

All insulated, and Joe from Ruggles just dropped off the next batch of lumber we need! Thank you, Joe! 😊

Our expanded shop at Riddle Hill Homestead is coming together. It’s still a construction zone, but I’m already picturing the shelves filled with local art, gifts, books, and vintage finds, with little lamps making it feel cozy and welcoming.

We’ll keep sharing peeks as we go. I can’t wait to start filling this space!

With consignment, you receive 85% of the retail sale price as a Let’s Grow Grafton member, and 75% as a nonmember. I’ll take care of displaying your items. Purchasing smaller items wholesale is also an option.

Friends of Mascoma has two locations. The Canaan pantry is at 9 On the Common Way, behind Canaan Hardware, and is open Tuesdays from 3–5 p.m. The Enfield pantry is at 19 Main Street and is open Wednesdays from 3:30–6 p.m. If those hours don’t work for you, call 603-632-4542 to ask about other arrangements.

New security system: check! ✔️

It’s not the prettiest progress photo, but all those wires mean we’re one step closer to opening the new Store. Walls and floors are next!

Store update!

The first big steps are the floors, windows and walls. The new windows have arrived, and once those basics are finished, we can start turning this old space back into a store.

And check out the glass display cases that were left behind from the last store in this building! They need a very good cleaning and a little work, but they’re going to be perfect for displaying jewelry, art, antiques and other special finds.

There’s a lot of work ahead, but it’s exciting to finally see it getting started. We’ll keep sharing photos as we go!

It’s time to make a BIG announcement: We’re expanding!

The current Cookie Shop was originally the porch of a building that once served as a store. We’ve cleaned out and gutted the rest of the building, and we’re now moving quickly to reopen the Riddle Hill Homestead Store—bigger and better than ever!

Over the next few weeks, you may notice some gift items disappearing from the Cookie Shop. Don’t worry—they’re not going away! We’re simply rearranging the space, refreshing our inventory and vendor stock, and preparing everything for the new store. We’ll also be welcoming lots of new vendors!

The expanded store will feature more cookies, more baked goods, more gifts, a LOT more art, some antiques, and plenty of other interesting things to discover. We’ll still carry a small selection of drinks and things, but we plan to leave most of those products to the new convenience store opening in the old meetinghouse next spring.

We’ll continue sharing photos so you can follow along with the progress. We can’t wait to show you what we’re creating!
