It's time to announce this month's international pastry special! Head Pastry Chef Kristen has created for you a lovely Gateau Basque. This treat hails from the Basque region, which sits between northern Spain, and Southwestern France. It has a crispy, buttery, cookie-like crust, filled with vanilla pastry cream, and Kristen's version is studded with cherries. The Gateau Basque originated in the 18th century, and was likely then made with bread. A very regional treat, many families have their own recipes, and there is an annual festival (the Fête du Gâteau Basque) held in the French Basque town of Campo-les Bains. Come try a slice! Here only through the end of the month.

We are told quite often that this community is so pleased we are here and we are privileged to be an ally. This month the bakery actively supports the LGBTQ+ community by collecting community donations and donating a portion of our June sales to Gorham Pride .

This week is your last opportunity to view the wonderful work of GHS senior artists Claudette Wesse and William Sturm! They've sold quite a bit, but customers have been kind enough to leave their purchased art with us until the end of the show so that others can enjoy it.

Heading into the long weekend, stop in for your grab-n-go meals and treats. We have chicken salad and Italian pasta salad in deli containers, frozen quarts of soup, take and bake cookies and cinnamon rolls, or you can fill a big box with a variety of baked goods to go! Have a great weekend!

Rock the Block with us next Thursday evening, right here in the parking lot of 94 Main St (in front of Morgan Dental). We're joining the party with some goodies like cupcakes and brownies for sale, and it should be a great time. Live music with the Shed Heads, food, and fun!
