I Do…want a handful of treats!

Two of my favorite humans got married on Saturday and I had to roll into the party with an assortment of snack-sized cookies and bars. It was a beautiful day for two lovely people, and the rest of us quietly fought over those lemon bars.

The bakery is closed this week for our annual return to the land from which we originated (also known as the Upper Peninsula of Michigan). Night one was Northern Lights in the shores of Lake Superior and last night was a bonfire and a sky full of stars. We’ll be back in action in the kitchen next Tuesday, but until then, we’re wearing hoodies and watching the sky.

I tried using edible images this weekend on two cakes, and what I thought would be intimidating was actually a lot of fun!

I am fortunate to have a fantastic family-owned cake shop just a mile from home, so I ordered some images directly from them. I try to shop with my local cake supply as much as possible, because I want to keep them around! If you have the opportunity, buy something from your favorite local business this week - they will appreciate it!

I’ve been out of the kitchen for a week and a half, so this is what trying to catch up looks like! 😳My youngest and I both got sick, but we’re feeling better and getting back to work and school. If I owe you a call or an email, please be patient! I’ve been baking nonstop to make up for missed orders from last week.

Today and got their deliveries! Tomorrow and will get about a million whoopie pies and cookies (I rounded up to the nearest million). Whew!
