The moment you realize your kid is gonna make this world a better place is priceless, even when it comes with more grief than one would expect. Sunny, Avery’s beloved leopard gecko, crossed the rainbow bridge this morning. She took such good care of him and this experience has led her to a path of wanting to be a veterinarian.

These moments hit a mama’s heart, hard.
Yet, surely, if Jesus takes care of the sparrows (and geckos!), He catches our tears and watches over us.

I am on cloud nine! I went to a live taping of my favorite podcast, Advisory Opinions, at DU last week with a lawyer friend. I knew the hosts both liked sourdough from a previous podcast. I went a little out of my comfort zone and decided to bring them each a loaf, knowing that we would probably be able to interact with them since one of the hosts just launched a book (The Last Branch Standing by Sarah Isgur, check it out!). My intuition was correct, we got our books signed by Sarah, and I was able to fan girl and give them each a loaf of sourdough.
On today’s podcast, at 3:56 mark, they mentioned my sourdough and how much they liked it. I am “almost” speechless! 😀🙌🏻😂
