☘️ Some members gathered for Mass this morning in honor of Our Lady of Knock, commemorating the miraculous apparition that took place in Knock, County Mayo, Ireland, on August 21, 1879.

Following Mass, the ladies enjoyed a wonderful breakfast together — a beautiful morning of faith, friendship and Hibernian sisterhood. 💚🇮🇪

"Good times never seemed so good!" 🎶☀️

Our LAOH Annual Summer Picnic at Morgan Park was a great day filled with great food, wonderful friends, and fantastic music from the Neil Diamond tribute band, Real Diamond.

A heartfelt thank you to Kelly Arena and Jean Jensen for organizing a wonderful afternoon. We also appreciate the members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians who joined us and helped make the day even more special.

Thanks to everyone who came out—we're already looking forward to next year! ☘️

We at the LAOH, St. Dymphna Division 8, are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Eileen Cronin.

Eileen was a true treasure in the Irish community — a warm, vibrant spirit whose love of Irish music and culture touched so many lives. Whether on the airwaves or in person at countless Irish events, she always brought joy, laughter, and a deep sense of pride in our heritage.

We were blessed to have shared many special moments with her over the years, including this memorable evening at Irish American Night at Eisenhower Park in 2021. Looking back now, that night feels even more meaningful.

Below was the caption we posted at the time, a moment we will forever cherish:

“LAOH, St. Dymphna, Div. 8, Glen Cove sisters Roni Jenkins, Sheila Zeineth, and Eileen Petrucci were honored to attend the Irish American Night at Eisenhower Park last night. Among the honorees was the Queen of Irish Radio, Eileen Cronin, who has been hosting Irish music on WRHU Radio Hofstra University, 88.7, every Saturday from 2 pm - 5 pm. A wonderful night celebrating our Irish heritage and congrats again to Eileen!”

May her music, her voice, and her spirit live on forever. Rest in peace, Eileen. ☘️

Honoring Heritage. Celebrating Freedom. 🇮🇪🇺🇸

Last Sunday, members of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians (LAOH) of Glen Cove gathered at Saint Patrick’s Church for the dedication and unveiling of a commemorative Hibernian plaque in honor of America’s 250th Anniversary of Independence.

The AOH Mike Moran Division and LAOH St. Dymphna Division 8 extend their heartfelt thanks to Father Gabriel and the parish community of St. Patrick’s Church for graciously allowing this special dedication to take place and for supporting this important recognition of Irish-American heritage.

“This plaque will serve as a lasting reminder of the sacrifices, contributions, and deep faith of generations of Irish Americans who helped shape our country and continue to strengthen our communities,” said Hibernian representatives.

This meaningful ceremony recognized the enduring contributions of Irish Americans to the fight for freedom and the founding of our nation. It was a proud moment of faith, heritage, and patriotism as we came together in the spirit of remembrance and celebration.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this special dedication possible. May this plaque stand as a lasting tribute to our shared history and the generations of Hibernians who continue to serve our communities with pride.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated items, volunteered their time, and stopped by to support our annual Garage Sale Day in Sea Cliff!

For many years, this wonderful tradition has been organized by Ann Madigan and her family, and once again their hard work and dedication made it a tremendous success. Despite the summer heat and fewer large items than usual, the sale raised approximately $1,200 to support the work of our division's missions and charities.

Thank you to all of our volunteers and supporters who helped make the day possible. Whether you donated, worked the sale, or came out to shop, your generosity and support are truly appreciated.
