My client moved down South last year, so when she came to me asking for cookies for her baby shower (being held in CT) I was surprised and honored to be included in another event. I knew from our past orders that she’d send me amazing inspo and I was not disappointed. I truly loved bringing these theme(s) to life and this is probably one of my most favorite baby shower orders yet!

The theme was Bridgerton with a little “Silly Goose” tastefully sprinkled in with vintage vibes. Can you see it?

I have never been more obsessed with a cookie than this one even if it did take years off my life 😅

The inspiration for this design came from my client who told me she was going to have a gold mirror with a bow on top with her daughter’s name and asked if we could turn that into a cookie somehow. I knew fitting her full name would be hard, so I decided to incorporate monogram initials and I just love how it came together and I cannot wait to share this entire dreamy set with you!

Bride to B E E 🐝

I used my clients invitation as inspiration for the cookies and while I wanted to be on theme, I also wanted to stick with an elegant vibe for her event. I went back and forth on adding little bees throughout some of the designs but ultimately decided to leave them out because I didn’t want the sharp contrast of the black and I’m glad I did!

It’s hard not to buy ALL the things when you first start making cookies and TBH most of them you don’t need… but this is one purchase I stand by and I wish I made it sooner.

If you’re debating what “big purchase” to make, I would definitely recommend a A1 Mini 3d printer (get the bigger size if you’re going to print a ton). I can print most cutters in under 30 minutes and it is so easy to use. After purchasing TWO Enders previously (that I struggled with immensely), the Bambu has felt like a dream.

3D printing has saved me so much time, money, and gives me the chance to surprise clients with designs a little more “custom” to their order. It also keeps me from purchasing unnecessary cutters that “I might need at some point” because waiting on shipping times isn’t always inline with the timing of order requests.

I actually have come a long way and have grown to like the satisfaction that comes with making flowers, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t almost always have rage that comes with it. Why am I so angry? Because I ALWAYS have to remix my icing at least once if not twice (okay maybe even three times) to get it thick enough. I also usually can never seem to pick the right tip the first time which leads me to rebagging the icing which means more of my “good” piping bags that go to waste. This usually has me throwing out curse words around my chaotic kitchen and texting my cookie friends that we don’t charge enough for this 😂😂😂

All joking aside, I constantly see people lower their pricing because something is “easy” for them. On the flip side, I know I tend to undercharge because I’m not confident that it will come out good enough.

So in case you needed a reminder: just because something is l easy for you doesn’t mean there’s not a lot of skill behind it and that skill is value. And for those of you undercharging because you think you can’t do it - you likely can or you wouldn’t have said yes 😉

And yeah yeah, I’ll try to take my own advice.
