Today was the first day of 5th grade for my 2 middle kids! We took it slow this morning, it’s going to be a different kind of year planned and I don’t want them discouraged or overwhelmed. They are so capable of more than even I understand and I can’t wait to watch how we tackle new challenges and more littles in the mix.

Thank you Hot Mess Homestead for adding to our flock some beautiful breeds. We have had a lot of changes going on around here; we’ve had to rehome both goats as it’s been too hard on me since we are adding to our own family ( #5). So I’m going to be just focusing on chickens and the ducks and geese we have. Looking at redoing our garden for the fall (still got peppers and squash growing, praise the Lord. It’s been a good year even with the ups and downs. Thank you for your patience as we have navigated the last couple months.

I’m sorry I haven’t been on here posting lately, spent the holiday with my family and just genuinely trying to stay off social media as much. BUT I did make 10 more pints of pickles!! 9 dill and 1 spicy garlic (because I ran out of fresh dill 🤣). Half my pantry is jars of pickles this year 🤣🤣 praise the Lord for abundance. I threw the rest of the sliced cucumbers to the chickens Saturday for a forth of July treat and because I was done with them 🤣

Tonight’s haul included a bottle neck zucchini! I thought the stupid squash burrows killed them all!
