Throwback Thursday!

The leading lady legacy began in November of 1975, when Lisa’s mother, Cathy, opened Cathy’s Rum Cake®. Lisa was just 13 years old. She worked in the bakery alongside Cathy, learning about the cake production; mastering the family recipe and cake decorating. Lisa eventually took over the reins of the baking department, allowing Cathy to focus on her passion for cooking, catering, and setting up parties all over the valley 🍴
In true family business and working mom fashion, Lisa started bringing her daughters to the bakery from infancy. Lauren, Megan, and Madison started their official roles in the bakery around age 5, appearing in local commercials and tv segments, greeting customers, and separating paper doilies to put around the bottoms of cakes (all you CRC customers remember those) 😉
What an honor, to be here, 45 years later, still doing what we love! Although Lisa and family licensed from Cathy and opened their own bakery, the recipe still remains the same. There’s just more flavors, more products, more QC, more technology, more ingenuity, and more to come 🎂
