You may have noticed things have been a little quiet around here lately… and there’s a reason for it. I’ve been working behind the scenes on something I’m VERY excited to finally share.

Starting Friday, September 4th at 3 PM, you’ll officially be able to find Rue’s Whisk & Crumble gluten free goodies at Parkers Mercantile! 🌻

Parker’s is bringing together an amazing variety of local vendors, and I’m so excited to have my gluten free goods be part of it. We’ll have some of our signatures available, with more products and pantry staples coming as we grow.

I’d also love to hear from you as we continue to grow this little corner of Parker’s! If there’s something you’ve been missing in the gluten free world-whether that’s locally made dried pasta, pantry staples, baked goods, or something completely different-I’d love to hear what you’d like to see. My hope is that this can become a place where you can find a little bit of everything, all in one stop.

I’m so incredibly grateful for this opportunity and excited to be part of something that’s bringing so many local makers and small businesses together. I can’t wait to see you there! šŸ’œ

I’m not only grateful to have a wholesale partnership with them, but I also am employed by this farm. Leeza has taught me so many things and I’m so thankful that I have had the opportunity to grow with them! If you care about locally grown food, with wholesome ingredients, you’re looking at the right place! We stand with The 75 Oaks!

The signs are up. Here we go. šŸ’ŖšŸ»

We’re moving forward with our Special Use Permit request for The 75 Oaks, and now it’s time for our community to get ready.

🌾 If you believe in family farms
šŸ„• If you believe in access to local food
🐐 If you believe in connecting people with agriculture
🌳 If you believe places like The 75 Oaks belong in our community as Leander continues to grow

…this is the time to use your voice. šŸ“£

Here are the 3 things we need from you:

1. šŸ“ž Join our call list

If you’d be willing to make one quick, five-minute phone call for us when the time comes, comment below with the number of the topic that feels most natural to you:

1. Education & learning
2. Local food & convenient access
3. Discovering agriculture
4. Food security
5. Family & community connection

It doesn’t need to be profound or polished. We’re looking for something small, specific, and true to your own experience.

Maybe it’s as simple as:

• We started our first garden after coming here.
• My kids learned chickens can lay blue eggs.
• This was the first places my kids really got to experience agriculture.
• We’ve met people here and feel more connected to our community because of it.

Just comment your number below. Don’t call the City yet — we’ll reach out with the timing, who to call, and everything you need.

2. šŸ” If you’re our neighbor, show up.

If you live in Horizon Park, Overlook Estates, Oak Ridge or along Horizon Park Boulevard, we would especially love to have you at our:

Planning & Zoning Meeting
šŸ“… September 10
ā° 6:00 PM
šŸ“ Pat Bryson Municipal Hall

3. šŸ—“ļø Everyone: Mark October 15 on your calendar!

That’s our first City Council hearing, and we’d love to have our community in the room with us.

You do not need to speak.

Simply showing up and filling out a comment card in support on our behalf matters more than you know.

Being there is an important way to show the City that you support The 75 Oaks 🌳 and that you believe places like this belong in Leander as our city continues to grow.

Let’s do this, team! šŸ™ŒšŸ¼

Seven days. Three farms. A whole lot of clues…and now we can finally tell you.

We are coming to Parker’s Mercantile in Liberty Hill! ⭐

We’re partnering alongside them to give our Central Texas community more access to locally grown, raised, and handmade goods from farms you already know and trust.

That means favorites from The 75 Oaks, Leander Lavender, and Veteran’s Liberty Ranch will soon have another pick-up — right there in downtown Liberty Hill. ā¤ļø

And the best part?

Pre-orders are officially OPEN!

We’ve loved watching you follow the clues all week, and we’re even more excited for what comes next.
Three farms. One local landmark.

As we head into the busier months, I’ve made the tough decision that markets just aren’t the move for me right now.

I thought I was ready to jump back into them, but honestly, juggling my other work, home life, and the bakery has been a little harder than I anticipated. I want to be able to show up as the best version of myself for my customers, my employers, my family, and myself. So for now, I’m choosing to keep my weekends as free as possible to reset and spend time with the people I love.

That doesn’t mean the bakery is slowing down, though! Pre-orders are still available, and our rotating monthly products will continue at The 75 Oaks | Central TX Farm each week for Wednesday pickups. I also have a new pickup location coming VERY soon where you’ll be able to grab baked goods Friday–Sunday starting toward the end of this month.

And for those who have asked about my decorated sugar cookies, Sweet Eats will have them again starting this fall!

Two markets I have previously committed to and plan to still attend as a vendor are October 3rd at Round Rock Garden Center and October 4th at Season Three Vineyard, but I just can’t commit to additional markets right now. And I’m learning that it’s okay to say that.

Thank you for sticking by me while I figure out what a better work-life balance looks like for me. I’m so grateful for every order, message, market visit, and bit of support you’ve given this little bakery of mine. šŸ’œ

If you ever have questions about pre-orders or where to find my products, please message me! I’m always happy to help.

New pickup location announcement coming later this week!

A little reminder that I also make custom decorated sugar cookies for all of life’s sweetest moments. šŸŠ

This sweet little set was made for a baby on the way, and I loved getting to bring the theme to life with all the tiny details.

All of my decorated sugar cookies are gluten free, soy free, and completely dye free. I also freehand all of my lettering and designs, so every set is a little bit different and made specifically for the order. šŸ’œ

And a little behind-the-scenes confession: these photos were taken before the icing had completely set, so the cookies look a little shinier/whiter than they do once fully dried. I completely forgot to take my ā€œafterā€ pictures! šŸ˜‚

I really do love getting custom orders like this. There’s something so special about making cookies for someone’s baby shower, birthday, wedding, or whatever little moment they’re celebrating.

If you have something coming up that you’d like cookies for, send me a message!

If you’ve ever been disappointed by gluten-free bread that tastes like cardboard or falls apart before you can even make a sandwich… trust me, I’ve been there.

After my celiac diagnosis, finding bread that actually tasted good (and held together!) felt nearly impossible. That’s a huge part of why I wanted to create my own.

I’ve hinted about it for a while, but it’s finally official… my gluten-free sourdough boules are now available for Wednesday pickup at The 75 Oaks | Central TX Farm!

They’re soft, flavorful, and made to be enjoyed however you like-toast it for breakfast, build your favorite sandwich, or just enjoy a warm slice with butter.

Place your order by Monday’s at 9 PM for Wednesday pickup at the farm at their link in bio!

This week I’ll have the Classic Sourdough Boule available to order for next week pickup, and if everything goes as planned, I’m hoping to add the Cinnamon Raisin Sourdough Boule in August!

As someone with celiac, being able to offer bread that I genuinely look forward to eating means more than I can put into words. I can’t wait for you to try it. šŸ’œ PS. stay tuned for future updates on additional pickup locations! I can’t wait to share those soon.

I thought it was time I shared a little more about the story behind Rue’s Whisk & Crumble and the person behind the apron. šŸ’œ
Hi, I’m Marissa, or you may know me as ā€œRue.ā€

If you would’ve asked little me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I would’ve said ā€œa chefā€ without hesitation. Some of my favorite childhood memories were made baking with my grandma during the holidays-the recipes, the traditions, and the way food had a way of bringing people together. I even wrote school essays about one day having something of my own.

Looking back now, I realize that desire to create and care for others has always been a part of me.

That desire led me into healthcare, where I spent over 10 years caring for others during some of their most vulnerable moments. As I navigated my own health journey, I learned how meaningful it is to feel seen, understood, and valued.

Eventually, I found myself back in the kitchen, recreating the desserts and traditions I loved-especially my great-grandma’s Czech kolĆ”Äe in a way that was safe for me. Somewhere along the way, I realized I wasn’t the only one longing for those moments.

Maybe this wasn’t just about finding my way back to the traditions I loved.
Maybe it was about helping others find their way back to theirs, too.

With the encouragement of my best friend, who believed in this dream before it was anything more than an idea, Rue’s Whisk & Crumble came to life in March 2025. I’ll always be grateful for the foundation we built together and the way she helped lead me back to a dream that had been a part of me all along.

Today, I get to combine every part of my story-the little girl baking with her grandma, the healthcare worker who wanted to advocate for others, and the person who understands how powerful it is to feel included.

Because this isn’t just baking.

It’s bringing back traditions, creating new memories, and reminding people they still belong at the table.
