The less you need from the system the less the system can take from you.

Every jar you fill yourself is one less you need to buy. Every vegetable you grow is one less decision someone else makes for you. Every skill you learn is one less thing you are dependent on anyone for.

This is not extreme. This is just quiet, consistent, deliberate freedom.

🌾🐝 THE NEW LOAVES ARE HERE! 🐝🌾

I’ve been telling you something new was coming from the Harvest & Hope kitchen.

Well... this is it.

And I really wish Facebook had a smell button right about now. 😂

Meet our two newest farmhouse loaves:

🍯 SUNDAY BEST
Brown Butter • Honey • Cinnamon Crunch

🫐 BLUEBERRY MORNING
Maple • Honey • Blueberry • Oat Crunch

These aren’t little dry slices of quick bread. These are big, substantial, incredibly moist farmhouse coffee cake loaves, baked in their own pans and made so that every layer brings something different to the bite.

🍯 SUNDAY BEST

This one started with a question:

What would happen if cinnamon coffee cake got all dressed up for Sunday morning?

Apparently, the answer is brown butter. 😂

We slowly brown real butter until it becomes golden and nutty and fills the kitchen with that warm, toasted aroma that falls somewhere between caramel, buttered popcorn and Sunday-morning baking.

Then comes the honey-cinnamon center.

Cut into Sunday Best and you’ll find a rich ribbon tucked right through the soft cake—gooey, deeply cinnamon, sweetened with honey and brown sugar, with that toasted brown-butter flavor underneath it all.

And then there’s the top.

Ohhhh, the top.

A generous layer of cinnamon-oat crunch covers the loaf and bakes until it’s golden and crumbly, giving you just enough crunch before your fork reaches that incredibly soft cake underneath.

So imagine this bite...

Buttery cinnamon crumble.
Soft, moist honey cake.
A rich cinnamon-brown sugar ribbon.
And that little toasted note of brown butter lingering at the end.

It’s warm, buttery, cinnamon-rich and just a little messy in exactly the way a really good coffee cake should be.

This is the loaf I’d warm for just a few seconds, pour a cup of coffee, find a quiet spot and enjoy while the house is still waking up.

Hence the name...

Sunday Best. 🤎

And then there’s her completely different sister...

🫐 BLUEBERRY MORNING

If Sunday Best is warm, rich and cozy, Blueberry Morning is bright, buttery and just a little bit country.

We start with a soft maple-and-honey batter, fold in old-fashioned oats and scatter it generously with whole blueberries.

As the loaf bakes, those berries soften and burst into little pockets of deep blueberry flavor throughout the cake. Some stay tucked inside. Some peek through the golden top. And every slice is just a little different depending on where those berries landed.

But then comes my favorite part...

The Maple-Oat Crunch.

A thick layer of old-fashioned oats, brown sugar, real butter and pure maple syrup covers the top before baking.

The butter and maple work their way into those crumbs. The oats toast. The brown sugar caramelizes around the edges. And underneath all of that crunch is an incredibly soft, moist maple-and-honey cake dotted with juicy blueberries.

So imagine your fork going through...

A buttery maple-oat crumble...
then that soft, moist cake...
then a juicy pocket of blueberry...
followed by another little bite of toasted maple crunch.

It’s sweet without losing that little tart pop from the berries, and the maple doesn’t overpower everything. It leaves behind this warm sweetness that makes you want to go back for another bite.

Blueberry Morning makes me think of one of those quiet farmhouse mornings...

Coffee brewing.

Sun coming through the kitchen window.

Everybody else still asleep.

And cutting yourself a piece before anybody knows it’s there. 😂

That’s Blueberry Morning. 🫐🌾

And yes...

Eat the corner piece.

That’s where all that buttery crumble gets a little extra golden around the edges, and I’m convinced the baker should get first dibs. 😂

These loaves are different from some of what you’ve seen from Harvest & Hope before.

And that’s intentional.

Sometimes growing means realizing that what worked in one season isn’t necessarily what you’re supposed to carry into the next one.

We’re still baking simply.

We’re still using ingredients you recognize.

We’re still baking with honey.

We’re still placing Scripture on every package.

And we’re still sending every item out of this kitchen with the same prayer and purpose behind it.

We’re just making room for something new. 🤎

🍯 Sunday Best — $8
🫐 Blueberry Morning — $8

And these aren’t tiny sample loaves. They’re generous farmhouse-sized coffee cake loaves made for slicing and sharing...

Although after tasting them, I’m making absolutely no promises that you’re going to want to share. 😂

So now I have to know...

Which one are you reaching for first?

🍯 Sunday Best
or
🫐 Blueberry Morning

I already know my answer... but I’m keeping it to myself. 😉

🌾 STORIES WORTH KEEPING — Story No. 1 🐝

I knew if I was going to ask others to share their stories, I needed to be willing to share mine first.

And this is being vulnerable.

Grief isn't something that fits neatly into words. Being transparent about the hardest parts of your life—especially the parts that changed you forever—isn't easy. But I also believe that telling our stories can be a step in healing.

This video is a little of the story behind Harvest & Hope.

In 2023, when life became heavier than I ever imagined it could be, I felt an overwhelming pull to bake. At the time, I didn't completely understand why. I just knew I needed to do it.

Looking back now, I can see God's hand in it.

What began as something that helped me put one foot in front of the other became an opportunity to put a little hope into someone else's hands.

That's why there is a Bible verse on EVERY package that leaves my kitchen.

Because I don't know who will pick it up.

I don't know what they're carrying.

I don't know whether that little verse will meet someone on an ordinary Tuesday or on one of the hardest days of their life.

But I do know this: we are never alone. God is with us—even in the places we never thought we'd have to walk.

And I know where Joshua is. ❤️

I also know that grief did not take away my responsibility—or my desire—to keep living.

I am still a mom.

I continue to live for my children—for the ones I can still wrap my arms around and for the one I carry with me every single day.

Losing Joshua changed the way I live, but it didn't change how deeply I love any of my children.

There is a before, and there is an after.

I can't go back to the person I was before. But with God's help, I am learning how to live in the after—to keep showing up, keep loving, keep finding purpose, and keep carrying Joshua with me as I do.

And somewhere along that road, Harvest & Hope became part of that living.

Then Ranch & Root Market, LLC opened an incredible space for Harvest & Hope to become something outside the walls of my own kitchen. They gave me a place to put those loaves—and those little pieces of hope—into the hands of our community. I will always be grateful for the space they created and for every person who has supported this little kitchen along the way.

So maybe this is exactly where "Stories Worth Keeping" needs to begin.

With the truth.

With vulnerability.

With remembering.

And maybe, little by little, with healing.

If you've walked through something that changed you, if you've watched God show up when you needed Him most, or if your family has a story, tradition, recipe, memory, answered prayer, or piece of wisdom worth passing down, I hope someday you'll share it with us too.

You don't have to have the perfect words.

You just have to have a story worth keeping.

Because there is still good in the world.

There are still prayers being answered.

There are still people showing up for one another.

There is still hope growing in places we thought nothing could grow again.

And there are still "Stories Worth Keeping". 🤎🌾🐝

This is....

Some things are worth passing down.
