On Sunday, Facebook popped up with a memory of my very first Gerty’s offering one year ago! It feels like our little bakery has been open for more than a year and less than a year at the same time. In the last year we’ve moved from a home based business into a commercial kitchen and went from baker to consumer sales only to wholesale partnerships with some of the best coffee shops, bakeries, and restaurants in our county while still offering special orders. We are immensely proud of our growth, and we look forward to continuing to learn about the industry as we explore what’s in store for Gerty’s down the road.
We couldn’t have made it this far without the support of all of you and so many people in our wonderful community. I’d love to give a special shout-out to a few of the incredible people that have helped Gerty’s grow in the last year:
Jessica Newhall with SBDC . Her knowledge and guidance has been invaluable, especially since I did not go to business school!
Doug Niblack and JJ Johnston with : Their support, encouragement, and advice has enabled our business to jump into the world of wholesale and elevated our quality of product to new heights.
Deanna Hammond with : Her feedback and partnership has helped me understand the industry better and reach for bigger dreams.
Lastly, I’d like to thank my husband, Mark, AKA Mr. Gerty. Not only does he go on late night/early morning runs for me when I forget an ingredient and put boxes together for orders, he fully supports my passion, and that is something I do not take for granted. ❤️
