🧩 Turns out puzzle cookies aren’t just for kids! 🍪💕

When we first introduced our 6-piece Puzzle Cookies, we originally created them with kids in mind — a delicious sugar cookie that’s also a little activity before you get to eat it. What could be more fun? 😍

Then we decided to have a little fun and create a few designs for the grown-ups too…

And we definitely weren’t prepared for what happened next! 😂

Our adult Puzzle Cookies have been an absolute HIT, selling out at every market we’ve attended over the past few weeks! 🎉🧩

Even better has been hearing from customers who came back to tell us that they didn’t just look brilliant — they tasted amazing too. And that means so much to us, because no matter how fun or beautiful something looks, it always has to taste just as good! ❤️

Swipe through and watch these two puzzles come together — one created for the little ones and one proving that grown-ups deserve to play with their food too! 😉

Six pieces. One puzzle. And when you’re finished… you get to eat the evidence. 🍪🧩

Keep an eye out for new Puzzle Cookie designs at our upcoming markets — you never know what we’ll turn into a puzzle next!

Planning a party or special celebration? Our Puzzle Cookies can also make a fun and unique addition to your treats. Message Bakes by Zia to chat about custom cakes and treats for your next celebration! 💕

Pretty in pink… with a little Barbie magic! 🎀💖

We had so much fun creating this Barbie Doll Cake, where Barbie’s beautiful skirt is actually the cake! 🎂✨

Underneath all those gorgeous buttercream rosettes is a delicious vanilla cake, transformed into a flowing gown with layers of pink, blush and purple. We especially loved creating the ombré effect and watching the whole dress come together one rosette at a time. 🌸💜

There’s just something extra special about a cake that becomes part of the celebration before anyone even takes that first slice! 🥰

Planning a birthday or special celebration? Bakes by Zia would love to create a custom cake and treats designed especially for your occasion. Send us a message and let’s bring your idea to life! 💕

💌 Some moments just stay with you.

Today, something arrived in the mail that genuinely touched my heart.

A lovely lady who visited our booth at the End of Summer Block party at purcellvillemainstreet a couple of weeks ago took the time to find us and send us a handwritten card. She wrote about how much she enjoyed our baked goods, how much she appreciated our setup, and wished us all the very best with Bakes by Zia.

I honestly wasn’t expecting it, and it meant more to me than she probably realizes. ❤️

There are so many hours behind a small baking business that people never see — the late nights, the baking, decorating, packing, loading the car, setting everything up, and hoping that people will enjoy what you’ve made. And then something like this happens.

To know that what we created left enough of an impression for someone to think of us, sit down, write a card and mail it to us… that is incredibly special.

These are the moments that make all the hard work worth it. 🥹

To this very sweet customer — thank you. Your kindness made my day, and this little card will be treasured. 💕

☀️🎉 ONE MORE SUMMER PARTY… AND WE’RE BRINGING THE SWEETS! 🧁🍪

We’re heading back to Purcellville Main Street this Saturday for the End of Summer Block Party, and we are SO excited! 💕🎉

This one feels extra special because it will be our FOURTH event with Purcellville Main Street! From our very first event, we’ve absolutely loved being part of this community. The people we’ve met have been incredibly warm and welcoming, and the support and appreciation shown to small businesses like ours has meant more than we can say. 🥰

So naturally… we had to come back with LOTS of treats! 😋

We’ll have your usual BBZ favorites, but we’ve also been busy in the kitchen putting together a whole new lineup of goodies for you to discover! 👀🧁🍪 We’re keeping a few surprises under wraps for now, so you’ll just have to come see what’s waiting at our table!

💜 A little taste of the tropics is joining the Bakes by Zia menu! 🌴

Introducing our new Ube Crinkle Cookies — beautifully purple, soft, chewy, and made with the wonderfully unique flavor of ube. 💜

If you’re new to ube, it’s a vibrant purple yam with a naturally sweet, slightly nutty, vanilla-like flavor. It’s especially loved in Filipino desserts and has found its way into everything from cakes and cookies to ice cream and other sweet treats.

Hailing from a tropical island ourselves, there’s something extra special about adding ube to our menu. 🌺 In Sri Lanka, we’re no strangers to enjoying purple yam and other tropical root vegetables in different ways — so taking that familiar tropical ingredient and turning it into a beautiful little cookie feels right at home at Bakes by Zia. 💜

And you don’t have to wait long to try them!

🛍️ We’ll be bringing our Ube Crinkle Cookies to Archwood Green Barns TOMORROW!

📅 Sunday
⏰ 10 AM – 2 PM

Come by, say hello, and be among the first to try our newest treat! 💜

Alternatively, DM to order! 💜
