Our Working Food Kitchens are a starting point for food entrepreneurs to get their business off the ground without the heavy added start-up expense; a barrier many people come up against in this industry. This opportunity is one that did not always exist until we built this commercial space, provided coaching and time to incubate, and were able to do it at affordable rates. Since opening, we have seen a demand that has far exceeded anything we expected reminding us that space and opportunity are sometimes all we need. As we continue to work to support establishing more local food businesses, hereβs whatβs currently happening:
We have production of value-added products from farms such as Biogera, LLC, unique tea blends from Formosa Tea, locally made tempeh from The Tempeh Shop, fresh smoothies and guacamole from Deli Fresh Blessings and Hand baked pies with purpose from PiesAbilities.
Food trucks like Soup to Nuts Food Truck, Eim Thai, Arepa Burger Food Truck, Mayflower Cellars, Ash & Ember : Wood Fired Co., and Tommy Knockers bless the streets with good grub.
Vegan baked goods from Lemkos Bakery, Brio Cold Brew Coffee and Raw Vigor are on shelves in stores all over Gainesville.
Catering options from Daniel's Dining, Chef JJ Creations, and Spanglish are all available for parties, events, and private functions.
These hard-working entrepreneurs have been growing and expanding their businesses and we look forward to seeing some of them established in their own space in our community in the future. If you want to become a supporter of Working Food visit our website to find out more.

At Working Food we have a few women-owned businesses- Lemkos Bakery, Eim Thai, Mayflower Cellars that we are excited to have in our community (and as a shameless plug Working Food is also women-owned and operated).
In the food and restaurant industry, women are not usually in ownership positions; we hope to help change that. It is well-documented that women-owned businesses are under-funded and wind up working twice as hard to get half as much ahead.
Are you interested in supporting the launch of more women into food-based entrepreneurship? Your donation to Working Food can help more women gain entry into entrepreneurship and be instrumental in their business growth and expansion.
December 3rd is Giving Tuesday globally. You can visit workingfood.org to learn more about us and to donate.

My teenage daughter just had your vegan carrot cake and said it was "so delicious!"
(I've never seen her get this excited over dessert before.)
Awesome job Lemkos Bakery!!!
Iβm supposed to pick up a cake and I cannot find an address or a phone number anywhere online. Are you located at Working Food??
I was at Luckyβs yesterday guiding my vibrant child through the store trying to find an ingredient for a recipe while hunting for a sweet treat for her. Looking at many offerings, I continued to look for a better price-point (*cough* something cheap to placate child).
And what do I find but what can only be described as a heavenly gluten/ grain-free (ALMOND flour ppl!) chocolate chip sandwich from Lemkos Bakery owned and operated by the lovely Kat Wasula.
Forget that I love this woman, this little unassuming morsel of heaven was just.......HEAVEN.
Gville folks, make your life better and track these treats down!! Immediately. Now. What are you waiting for? Your happiness depends on this!
They sell at Luckyβs and Wards. Kat is also at the farmerβs market on Wednesdays.
For Orlando and Jacksonville folks, rumor has it they may be extending there reach to your neighborhood. Youβre welcome.
Mark you calendars September 14th 1-5pm!
An afternoon of tea and baked goods with Formosa and Lemkos Bakery two of our entrepreneurs incubating at Working Food.
We're also stocked up(though it's dwindling fast) on Secret Garden Bakery items, and our new treats from Lemkos Bakery!!!!
I was at Ward's and saw a Lemkos Lavender sandwich cookie and thought, "WTH? A lavender cookie?" Out of curiosity I bought one and thought, "It will probably be interesting but not a favorite and sort of weird...." Well, I got home and said, "I am going to just try a bite and save it for later even if I like it...." I took one bite and I was transported to Heaven!!! I was amazed! I loved the cookie! I ate the whole thing right then and there and will go back to Ward's for more!!!! Curse you, Lemkos!!!!! I don't need more sweets that I love!!!!!!!! LOL
