Graduation weekend always gets me a little emotional.

Wyatt’s is proudly a UF alum-owned shop, and honestly, so much of my love for coffee started because of the time I spent inside Gainesville cafes. When I was in college, I spent hours at places like Volta and Knowhere Coffee. Studying, working, sitting with friends, falling in love with specialty coffee.

Those places shaped me.

There’s something really special about a cafe full of people trying to get through the day, finish the paper, study for the test, meet up with someone they love, or just find a place where they can be productive for a little while. I know how much that meant to me when I was a student, and it means a lot to now be part of creating that kind of space for someone else.

So to every UF or Santa Fe student who has spent part of this semester with us, thank you. And to everyone graduating this weekend, we’re so proud of you.

If you’re staying in Gainesville, enjoy it. There is so much beauty here once you get the chance to slow down and explore it.

If you’re leaving, we’re cheering you on. You’ve got this. Big, big props to you.

Thanks for letting us be a small part of your time here.🐊

Tomorrow, Friday March 27, we’re dropping the same spring drink menu at both Wyatt’s and Resident. Same drinks, both spots. And yes, the Strawberry Guava Matcha + Chocolate Strawberry Latte are staying by popular demand from you. 💘

Special shoutout to our Director of Operations, seasonal menu extraordinaire, Lauren Babb for putting such an amazing effort at this release!

Carrot Cake Mascarpone Cold Foam Latte (iced): spiced carrot syrup, mascarpone cold foam, and a carrot-cake spice garnish with a tiny hit of salt.

Raspberry Lychee Lemonade (iced): tart house lemonade layered with a raspberry lychee syrup. Add a matcha floater if you want it extra fun. Dried lotus root on top.

Lavender Earl Grey Latte (hot or iced, also as matcha): earl grey + lavender with a hint of almond and an orchid garnish.

Chocolate Strawberry Latte (hot or iced): exactly what you want it to be.

Strawberry Guava Matcha (iced): bright, juicy, and the one everyone begged us not to take away.

Try one, try them all.

Wyatt's is 8 years old!

Hey friends,

Wyatt’s officially turned 8 years old on February 23rd.

Eight years of this little café in downtown Gainesville.

Eight years of unlocking the doors early in the morning. Eight years of watching the same faces walk in week after week. Eight years of new people slowly becoming regulars, and regulars becoming friends.

I started at Wyatt’s as a barista in 2018, right when the shop first opened. A year later, in 2019, I stepped into ownership. I remember how surreal that felt. I was still learning the rhythms of the bar, still figuring out what it meant to care for a team and a community through a place like this.

Then 2020 happened, and like so many small businesses, there were real moments where we didn’t know if Wyatt’s would continue to exist. Those were heavy days. Uncertain days.

But somehow, through all of it, Wyatt’s kept going.

Through the ups and downs, the early mornings, the late nights, the long lines, the slow days, the celebrations, the mistakes, the growth. Through all of it, Wyatt’s has been steady.

And what I’ve realized over the years is that the cafe itself isn’t really the thing.

It’s the people.

The team that shows up every day and cares deeply about what happens behind that bar. The people who remember your name, your drink, your story. The team that laughs together, works hard together, and carries this place forward day after day.

And of course, the Gainesville community that continues to walk through the doors and choose us again and again.

Eight years is not something I take lightly.

Wyatt’s has been a blessing for my family. It’s been a place where friendships were formed, where leaders grew, and where community actually feels real. I’m grateful for it in ways that are hard to put into words.

So this year, instead of doing a big traditional birthday party, we wanted to celebrate in a way that felt simple and meaningful.

This Friday, March 6, we’re bringing back the Birthday Cake Latte for one day only.

We’re making a limited batch just for the day. Once it runs out, that’s it.

$5 from every Birthday Cake Latte sold will go directly into a bonus pool for our team.

The people who make Wyatt’s what it is.

So if Wyatt’s has meant something to you over the years, I’d love to invite you to come celebrate with us on Friday.

Grab the drink.
Bring a friend.
Hang out for a bit.

And in doing that, you’ll also be putting a few dollars directly into the pockets of the people who care for this place and this community every single day.

We’ll also have DJ Pepito Von Dracula spinning all-vinyl classic salsa and Latin soul, which feels like a pretty great way to celebrate eight years in downtown Gainesville.

Thank you for loving this little cafe.

Thank you for supporting our team.

And thank you for eight beautiful years.

Here’s to the next ones.
