💗 “Your prices are too high.” 💗
I’ve heard it, and I want to give a little perspective on what actually goes into a scratch-made dessert from Tantalizing Tastebuds.
When you buy from a small bakery, you’re not just paying for flour, sugar, butter, and eggs.
You’re paying for:
🧁 Quality ingredients
🥣 Recipes made from scratch—not pulled from a freezer and resold
⏰ Hours of mixing, baking, cooling, filling, decorating & packaging
🧼 Cleaning and sanitizing before, during, and after every bake
📦 Containers, labels, bags, boxes, utensils & packaging
🚗 Travel, pickups, deliveries & vendor events
💡 Electricity, equipment, supplies & business expenses
❤️ And most importantly—the time, skill, practice, and care that goes into making every single dessert
That $10 cake isn’t just cake.
It’s the shopping trip.
It’s the ingredients.
It’s the mixer running.
It’s the oven heating.
It’s the frosting being made.
It’s the filling being prepared.
It’s the decorating.
It’s the packaging.
It’s the dishes afterward.
It’s the hours behind the scenes that you never see.
I completely understand that my desserts won’t fit everyone’s budget—and that’s okay. ❤️
But I also believe small businesses deserve to price their products in a way that covers their costs and pays them for their work.
I don’t want to compete with grocery-store bakery prices. That’s not what I’m making.
I’m making big, indulgent, scratch-made desserts that I’m proud to put the Tantalizing Tastebuds name on.
And I’m incredibly thankful for every person who sees the value in that and continues supporting my little business. 🧁💗
