Okay, it’s Menu Drop Wednesday!

I’m not even going to lie, I’m REALLY excited about this week’s menu. There are some flavors on here that I’ve been wanting to make, and fall flavors are officially rolling in! 🍂🍎

And we’ve got a little something special this week because of ✨️ Dolly ✨️

I wanted to make a little tribute to Dolly Parton with her famous Dollywood Cinnamon Bread, so that’s making an appearance on the menu. I’m using real Vietnamese & Ceylon cinnamon, and you can get it with vanilla icing or apple butter. 🥹

Also, I have to tell you guys something really cool.

Last month, we raised $100 for a local animal shelter with our Dirty Litter Box Cakes. And now an anonymous donor has offered to match that $100 donation!

So that’s $200 going toward helping our furry friends. 🐾❤️

This month, that donation will be going to Sheltering Hands, Inc.*I will be dropping of the donation on Saturday, September 5th.* And I really want to tell you guys why I love supporting them.

When you adopt an animal from Sheltering Hands, you don’t just get a four-legged family member, you get them, too. If your pet ever becomes lost, gets sick, or needs emergency medical attention, they’re there to help. They continue that same devoted love and care for the animals even after they’ve found their forever homes.

I am a delusional baker. 😂
If you call me and say, “I want this. Can you make it?” I’m probably going to say YES!

Then I’ll tell you upfront:

1. I’ve never made it before.

2. I’m not a decorator.

3. I promise you it will NEVER be dry, and it WILL taste delicious.

I might be willing to bake just about anything because that’s what I love to do! But I will always be honest with you. I’m never going to break the law or ignore the things I’m restricted from doing under Florida Cottage Food Law. Sometimes that means an authentic dessert has to be tweaked a little to make it legally and safely in my home bakery.

So when someone called and asked about an angel food cake, I explained everything upfront. I told him I couldn’t do fresh fruit on top because of my cottage food restrictions, and that the icing/frosting would need to be shelf-stable. I gave him the price, made the cake, and sent him pictures when it was finished.

He loved it! 🥹💕 And now we’re just waiting for pickup!

And because it’s a birthday cake, you KNOW I included candles. It is a LAW in my household that you blow out candles and make a wish on your birthday. No ifs, ands, or butts about it. So yes, I’m a little delusional. I’ll say yes before I’ve ever made something. 😂

But I’m also going to be honest about what I can do, what I can’t do, and what I’m legally allowed to do. At the end of the day, I’m going to do my absolute best to make you something that looks homemade (because it is), tastes amazing, and is NEVER dry.

Because let’s be honest, that’s the real crime. 😂💕

I absolutely ADORE my firehouse friends at Lake County Fire Rescue building #53 in Fruitland Park ❤️ They’re right down the street from me, and the neighborhood kids are always over there playing basketball. They’ve always been such amazing people, but they were especially kind to me when I was pregnant with my Mango. 🥹💛 Anytime I didn’t trust my blood pressure machine at home, they would check it for me, and they would even check my blood sugar. They always made me feel cared for and looked out for, and I’ll never forget that.

I had some extra “faux cinnamon” rolls and I gifted them 8 large ones! I hope that's enough... They have all the cozy cinnamon-roll goodness without the actual cinnamon. 😂❤️🚒

This is my favorite thing. Pure kindness.

I want to give back.

When we had Freeman, those first two months were HARD. He had his days and nights mixed up, breast feeding was a nightmare, I was an emotional mess, and Mark was spread so thin I thought he was going to fall over at any point. Going from three to four kids was quite the transition for us!

THANKFULLY we had my mom that helped us tremendously, my cousin who stopped in to bring goodies and listen to me cry, and neighbors that made sure we had dinner every night. Not everyone has the support we had.

Around the 2 month mark when I was able to think straight, I started thinking about the growing families that don't have the support we had. The mama who didn't have anyone to cry with at 2am, the dads that suddenly got everything put on their shoulders, the older kids that just got pushed aside temporarily. I wanted to help them but I was too freshly post partum to help anyone.

Well, I'm ready now. I want to help make sure a mama knows she's not alone, a dad doesn't wonder how he's going to handle everything by himself while taking care of a new baby and a post partum wife, and kids that are feeling something they've never experienced.
