My passion for baking and decorating cakes led to the birth of Cakelicious 'D' Delicious. CDD is a custom cakery where you could bring your dream cake come true!! Be it a birthday,wedding,anniversary,baby shower or anything and everything else.....You name it and we do it :) Make your special day even more intriguing with creations from CDD!! And ofcourse sometimes you just don't need any special occasion for having a cake ;) We understand that too :)

Ho-Ho-Ho season is in the air! And boy oh boy, I was privileged to be a part of The Christmas fruit cake bake-off hosted by Kitchen Kemistry by Cheryl R.
It was such a knowledge filled and intense month long session. No stone was left unturned! Cheryl Rajkumar had gone in-depth about every single aspect of baking a fruit cake. Throughly enjoyed the entire bake-off and the wealth of knowledge gathered. Hats off to Cheryl to pull this off with such precision and planning. It's always been such a pleasure being a part of her bake-off's. It's not an easy task to pull this off with 200 odd people but it was very well planned and executed meticulously. Hats off to you Cherly for being this selfless and most sweetest person ❤️. Glad to have been a part of it.

Simple is always elegant, at the same time simplicity is the most difficult thing to achieve. Your imperfections have nowhere to hide behind!! It has to be flawless for the actual beauty to shine through and take over plus make up for all the unnecessary added extravaganza.

A simple elegant complete buttercream, 5 tier cake that went out of the CDD kitchen this summer 2019. Just the thought that I assembled and transported this giant cuteness all in one piece in this Texas heat, gives me jitters till date!!
A simple cake is the hardest to work with as even the tiniest faults have nothing to hide behind! I should say for sure this was one such cake. A combination of faux tiers with real, this cake holds a lot of firsts for me!

What do you come up when you are torn between a Bharathanatyam theme and the invitation and theme line decoration for the after arangetram party has everything to do with peacocks. Of couse incorporate both! And do justice to both.
In the blink of an eye, I knew of course my peacock feathers were going to adorn one tier. And what could do more justice to the Bharathanatyam theme itself, than the beautiful Bharathanatyam dress and the gorgeousness of the temple jewelry?!
And so here it is, presenting my most cherished creation of all.....for two beautiful, multi-talented sweet little girls. Every single piece in the jewelry was handcrafted without using any kind of mold and the ENTIRE thing was completely edible, each and every single thing on there!

I should say that this is one of the most time consuming cakes I have made so far, right from discussing the details to planning and making all the tiny details. But I should say I definitely enjoyed, like literally enjoyed doing this cake.
So, when the friend of this couple reached out on their behalf for the cake...she had tons of ideas but we couldn't fit them together. So she gave me the liberty to come up with the design, the included some of the specific things she was looking for- like the seeru(exchange of pleasantries such as sweets,dresses for bride and groom,fruits,betel leaves,flowers), the bride and groom topper,a silver kalash(as it was the 25th anniversary) and a necklace set.
So came up with a design where the bottom tier depicts the muhurtham saree (typically red) and the veshti (dhoti) draped half and half depicting that together they are one! Also, tried to get another important part of the TamBram wedding where the bride's saree and groom's dhoti are knotted as they go around the sacred fire. And what is a wedding without a mehendi?! So the second tier had a mehandi design that was free handpiped with Royal Icing and handpainted gold. This was then adorned with all the painstaking minute detailed toppers. Phew......the work on this cake was literally never ending but the effort is all worth it when your work is applauded!! :)
To do justice to all the tiny details and the amount of time I spent doing the toppers, you guys just get to see the toppers first 😜The photos of the cake to follow...............Watch the space!

The cake that concluded 2017! Made this lovely cake for the 25th wedding anniversary celebration of a sweet couple. Another cake that turned a client to a sweet friend :) The celebration was thoroughly planned and executed by the client. She knew right from the beginning as to what she wanted...a few sketches and we narrowed right down to what we wanted!

2017 had been a wonderful year and got an opportunity to get my hands on some beautiful cakes and yet more client turned friends!

This cake is another piece of art that I would like to add to the bucket of my favorite cakes made till date! This cake was made for a milestone birthday surprise of a beloved friend who is totally a multi-talented! Planned a very small cake as it was only a few of us gathered.The theme was to make a cake with all the elements she loved and that makes her HER! But each one had so much to contribute as to what had to go on the cake that there was no way that we could come up with all those on the cake without making it overcrowded!
That is when I got an idea inspired by a custom water bottle that I got designed for my daughter, with all that she inspired to be which was done by Pritesh Ananth Krishnan of Art'zire.
Since she being a graceful dancer and a soulfully sweet singer. Started of with this dancer with multiple hands. One with dance mudra, another with a mike to represent her love for music, the third with a Channel shopping bag, as she loves shopping and you would dare not guess the fourth one! It is a Urad dhal vada ;) !! One friend definitely wanted that incorporated as the b'day girl always has this stock of frozen vadas that would find their way instantaneously to be served to anyone who pays a surprise visit to her place!!
