UTILITY NOTICE, METER LOCKOUTS

Today, Thursday, August 27, Friendsville Utility technicians will be out locking meters on accounts with past-due balances.

Please Note:

A $75.00 reconnect fee has been added to accounts scheduled for lockout.

To have water service reconnected the same day, the full account balance, including the reconnect fee, must be paid before 3:00 PM.
Payments received after 3:00 PM or after the close of business will be processed for reconnection on the following business day.

Technicians will be working throughout the day, so customers are encouraged to make payment as early as possible to avoid interruption of service.

CITY HALL CLOSURE – MONDAY, AUGUST 24

Friendsville City Hall will be closed Monday, August 24, 2026, to allow employees to attend annual training, recertifications, and system updates.

While City Hall is closed for training, a utility technician will remain available to respond to water leaks and water system emergencies. To report a water leak during the closure, please call 865-985-9084.
For all other questions, you are welcome to leave a message, and an office coordinator will return your call when City Hall opens Tuesday for normal hours.

We appreciate your patience while our staff completes this important annual training.

🚧 Downtown Paving Notice – Today

Paving is underway today as part of the HUD Sidewalk and Sewer Project. South Morgan Street and North Morgan Street are closed while crews complete the work.

Traffic Detour: Use West Hill Street via Disco Loop to travel into and out of town.

Downtown businesses remain accessible from West College Avenue, but traffic cannot continue past City Hall. Please note there is no exit through the City Hall parking lot, as the South Morgan Street entrance/exit is closed.

For your safety, please obey all barricades and road closure signs. The City is not responsible for vehicle damage resulting from motorists driving through closed construction areas.

City Hall Closure Notice

Friendsville City Hall will be closed today from 12:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. to allow our employees the opportunity to attend funeral services and pay their respects to a longtime retired employee who faithfully served the City of Friendsville and our community.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we honor his memory and celebrate his years of dedicated service.

Utility payments may still be made using the drop box located outside City Hall. We will resume normal business hours at 2:15 p.m. and look forward to assisting you then.
