Behind the scenes 👀
As most of you know, we only bake once a week — but that doesn’t mean we’re off the other six days.
Every single day, we spend at least a little time doing something donut related.
Yesterday’s task: modifying our packaging.
These clamshell containers perfectly fit a dozen donuts, but they’re completely sealed and don’t allow any airflow. That might sound minor, but it actually makes a huge difference in product quality.
Using a hot soldering tool, we add four small vent holes to every container. They may not look like much, but they help prevent moisture from getting trapped inside once the donuts are packaged.
Without ventilation, the natural moisture released from the donuts can build up in the container and create a soggy product.
That extra step takes time, but it helps keep our donuts fresher, better textured, and tasting their best for longer.
