We are excited to announce that we will be having 3 pop ups over the next 3 weeks! Our first will be to celebrate Juneteenth. As a black owned business this holiday is very special to me as it celebrates the freedom of slaves June 19, 1865. I am 4th generation born free in my family and that is something that should be remembered. Honoring the past and all of our ancestors. I am my ancestors biggest dream.

Come and celebrate with us as we bring you all of our southern comfort sweets. We will have my Grandma’s Sweet Potato Pie, my Nana’s 7-Up Cake, my Aunt Aussie Mae’s Coconut Cake and of course our Juneteenth decorated cookies. We decided Saturday would be better for everyone to come in case you have to work on Friday. We look forward to seeing you next Saturday!

It’s graduation season and we’ve had the pleasure of helping families celebrate! One of our most popular items is our custom vanilla bean shortbread decorated cookies. We can make and print any design for any occasion! We still have graduation orders going out and we are so grateful to be a part of such amazing milestones.

Let’s talk about our new menu item, our pop tarts. Since we launched it, everyone has been loving it! So let me show you how we make it. I didn’t get a chance to show you how we make our pie dough, but we do a flakey pie dough. We roll and cut our pie circles, then fill it with an organic preserve (Bonne Maman Fruit Preserve, this particular flavor was a 4 fruit blend). We brush the border with egg wash, seal it, and use a pie cutter to give it an extra seal and pretty edges. Then we egg wash the whole thing and bake it until it’s perfectly golden brown. Last, we make a glaze with the preserve, powdered sugar and milk and let it set. The final results, pure deliciousness! The filling pops in your mouth and you get layers of flakey pie crust. It’s definitely a messy eat, but totally worth it. We can’t wait to offer these in our shop with rotating flavors.

What’s your favorite cupcake? While our classic flavor cupcakes are absolutely delicious, our specialty flavors are my favorite. From strawberry shortcake, to chocolate chip cookie dough, lemon meringue, malted sundae, and my favorite, peanut butter and jelly, we have lots of favorites! Something I want to do in the shop is have a rotation or cupcake flavors each week, but we’ll see how it goes. What flavor would you want to try?
