Whipped up a dairy free brownie cake with some dairy free frosting for a family mother's day bbq later today!

It was neat being able to work with ingredients that I don't normally use to create a classic dessert!

May is a very important and special month for Baked with Hope! If you haven't noticed by now, our name and the colors of our logo represent messages and symbols associated with Huntington's Disease (HD).

The colors blue and purple represent the two forms of HD: Adult and Juvenile onset.

The message of "hope" is huge in the HD community. We hold onto the hope that one day there will be a cure for the families affected by this disease.

If you're new to this page and have no idea what HD is then I'll explain it in a very simple way:
Imagine someone having Alzheimers, ALS, and Parkinson's Disease all in one package, thus you have Huntington's Disease.
It is a rare disease that can be inherited and it causes the breakdown of nerve cells in the brain, eventually affecting one's ability to speak, engage in coordinated movements, and regulate their behaviors.

Every May, Baked with Hope offers a discount to those who place an order and donate to the Huntington's Disease Society of America (HDSA). Your donation goes to an organization that will put that money towards the research so desperately needed to find a cure for HD.

Please consider donating this month to a very important cause!
