Hey y’all! I hope everyone had a great weekend!
I wanted to share the way I handle communicating with my customers. I have posted this before but I wanted to clarify somethings.
1. Cookies are NOT my life nor are they my first priority. My God and my family are my number one priorities.
2. My weekends are mine to spend with my family. Except on the rare occasion that I have a wedding. During the week our lives are so busy, as are everyone else’s. So my weekends are important to me because I get a break and get to relax or have fun with my family.
3. Cookies are not my hobby! Let me say that louder for the people in the back…COOKIES ARE NOT MY HOBBY! They are my JOB! The only reason I do them is to pay bills and save for my childrens college! Don’t get me wrong I do love doing them and I love getting to be artistic. But at the end of the day it is a job just like you have. Except mine isn’t an 8am-5pm. It’s usually 8am-3am. On top of being a wife, mom, chef, maid, taxi service….the list goes on. I don’t have an assistant or a house keeper. Just me!
With all of that being said, I have to draw a line between my personal life and my business. If I didn’t I would go insane. I already struggle enough with the anxiety and stress of working in my home. Because it’s hard to separate the two when they are right on top of each other.
I do not answer messages, unless they are from the orders I am working on, from Thursday afternoon at 4:00pm until Monday morning at 9:00am. So if you message me on Friday, I won’t get back with you until Monday. I am booked months in advance so you won’t be getting cookies for that weekend or next week. I try really hard to get back to people pretty quick on Mondays-Thursdays.
Facebook messenger doesn’t have an away message feature, which is stupid. 🙄 I wish it did! That is why it is better to email me with your orders.
Also the emails works better for me to keep my orders organized. I have been slacking on telling people to email me once they message me but I will redirecting people to my email from this point forward. If I didn’t do it this way I would have orders coming in from FB, IG, TikTok, my business page, text messages, phone calls….you get it. 🙂 So one place for orders.
I hope this doesn’t come across mean but I have to separate my life and my business.
