It’s officially day 21 and we already have two chicks that have hatched! Both are from BoBo’s eggs, so they are a cochin black bantam cross, and adorable! Every time I walk by the they follow me around from inside the incubator and chirp at me! Can the rest of the chicks hurry up and get out so I can cuddle them all 🥺

I have been seeing goat owners question why others have their goats wear collars. I have heard horror stories about collars but I still choose for my girls to wear collars that break away incase it’s ever needed.

I have decided that we are going to build a rabbit colony within our barn and would love to hear from others who have rabbit colonies! We are wanting to create as natural as a space as possible with space to simulate burrows.
We want to hear the Do’s/Don’ts ,recommendations or even what you would do with the space.

We plan on having a taller bottom base but open to suggestions before we begin building.

I love hearing from my customers and feeling the appreciation ❤️
The first customer bakes her goodies with our eggs and the second purchased hatching eggs from us. While there shouldn’t have been chicken eggs in the the duck eggs ( MY BAD ☠️) They had 4 cute chicks hatch and several ducks eggs still incubating!

As a follow up to our lockdown prep on our chicken eggs, we wanted to crack open the second egg that was shown. This egg had an embryo that clearly stopped developing and I wanted to take a peak inside to get a better idea of when the chicks development stoped. With factors such as gentics, temperature fluctuations, poor air circulation, low humidity and even contamination, there is always a chance that an egg will stop progressing.

While candling our 30 chicken eggs on day 17 to prep for lock down, we discovered 3 eggs that we wanted to share with you!
These eggs are great examples of how the chicks develop in the eggs and what to look for if you are hatching eggs!

Soft-shelled eggs (or "rubbery eggs") in chickens are caused by a lack of calcium, stress, or the hen's reproductive system glitching during development, resulting in an egg with only a thin membrane or very weak shell.
Our soft shell was caused by stress as the it came from a hen who was moved to our farm. It is the only one we have ever had but I thought it was so cool and we should share it with you!

Daphne and Daisy were having a great day today and zoomed all around the playground! Dolly is a little younger and wasn’t so sure about what was going on, but sure was checking them out!
