Sustainability Saturday: Trying Something New!

Thanks to support from the Michigan Wheat Program, MSU Extension is giving growers the opportunity to try a 12-foot no-till wheat drill with 5.5-inch row spacing this fall!

Growers can compare the narrow-row drill with their own equipment and collect yield data to see how each performs.

Wheat Wednesday: Star of the West VP of Flour Milling Karina Spencer recently attended the 2026 North American Millers’ Association Annual Meeting, where milling leaders came together to discuss the future of the industry—from developing the next generation of leaders to navigating opportunities across the milling supply chain.

Karina also serves on the NAMA Board of Directors and is pictured here with fellow board members. We’re proud to have Star of the West represented as the industry works together to move milling forward.

Top-Notch Tuesday: Our Isabella Group recently hosted its annual Plot Day, bringing growers and industry partners together for an evening of learning in the field.
This year’s event included a look at our food-grade corn program, along with a presentation from Michigan State University’s Dr. Christy Sprague on waterhemp control and management.
