Many people have asked me where the name "Mara" comes from. "Mara" is from my maiden name of 'Marazita', but the reason I named my business Mara's Sweet Confections is that it is a tribute to my dad and his sweet shop that he and my mom owned called "Mara's Sweet Shop" in Sturgis, Michigan. Creating custom cookies and sweets has become a passion of mine. I love the creative process of designing but also providing a wonderful looking product that is tasty, too!

Secondary to a motor vehicle accident in May, I'm working towards returning to baking/decorating with the help of O.T. and P.T. It's taking quite a long time with a few setbacks, but I'm looking forward to being back and fulfilling orders again.
