One whole year of Sips n’ Sugar💗
One year of early mornings, countless inventory runs, more trips to the gas station for generator gas and ice than I can count, hard work, busy busy days where I end the day feeling tired and exhausted, but never burnt out because I am truly getting to live my dream running this little coffee shop on wheels. A year of putting my all into this business trying to make it exactly what I know it can be. Going from working solo almost every day last season, to adding some amazing baristas to our team this year.

Reflecting on this first year in business, I have so many thank you’s I’d like to put out there.
First of all, to our customers: The support you have shown us has blown us away. I truly do appreciate each and every one of you. I don’t say that lightly. When we see repeat customers, it tells me we are doing something right, and that our hard work matters. When we see people who are driving sometimes several towns over, it means the world that you make the trip for us. When we see new customers who might just be in town visiting, but decide to stop by our trailer to check it out, we are so grateful that you decided to give our trailer a try. We wouldn’t be here without you and you have made our business feel so welcome, no matter what town/community we travel to.
Secondly, to the locations that host us, especially Mike at Napa, Kara at Kalla Lily LLC, Ruth with OMC, Carly with Stateline Auto, and so many others. Thank you so much for allowing us to use your spaces to set up our trailer and giving us the opportunity to serve these communities. We believe in the power of small business and that collaborations can benefit all of us. So having such wonderful small businesses who believe in us, and want to collaborate with us is something we are so grateful for.
Special thanks to our small business friends (The Sweet Stop and Sandwich Shoppe, Beaver Bottoms Saloon, Jubilee - Gatherings & Goods, Gabby Lou's Kitchen, Preston Floral and Gift) who always hype us up and recommend us as well to others, we are all in this together, and sometimes you just need other small business owners in your corner to remind you that it is all worth it.
To our staff, thank you for your hard work and dedication to our business. I can admit I can be a bit of a control freak when it comes to the business😅, and I have standards for every drink that I want to uphold and part of the reason I held off on hiring staff was because I was nervous to hand that off to other people. Our staff made me realize almost immediately how silly that was, because they all take things just as seriously as I do. My job became 100 times easier once you all stepped in and having your perspectives on things and hearing your ideas and suggestions lightens my load by a lot. Every time they have had the truck solo, I end up with at least one, but usually multiple, message from a customer telling me how they are absolutely rocking it.
To my husband and children:
Ryan, thank you for making my dream happen. I told you one day that I wanted a coffee trailer, and you started researching immediately. When you were ready to sign the papers to have our trailer construction begin, I told you I wasn’t sure if it was the right time, and you believed in me anyways and made it happen because you knew I could do it. You’ve put so many hours into fixing things, whether you already knew how or you taught yourself just so that you could do it for me. You have handled so much of the behind the scene things that I wouldn’t even know where to start with, and even went as far as teaching me how to pull a trailer and back it in (though we won’t talk about how long that second part took me to figure out😅😂)
To my boys, you had your mama go from being a stay at home mom, to jumping into owning a business, and went from having your mom with you every day to a whole new schedule. Even so you have been my biggest fans and my taste testers. Balancing a small business and a family was something I was nervous about when we started, and it definitely isn’t easy all of the time, but I like to think that we have gotten into a pretty good groove by now. I hope you always believe in me like you do now.
Here’s to many more years of Sips n’ Sugar💗
