1. Hurley House is a delightful place to work. Our culture is kind, warm, and loving. We work hard, but we have fun doing it.
2. Our schedule is very mom-friendly, and several of our team members have school-aged children.
3. Our clients are the absolute best, and getting to serve them is the kind of work you can’t help but enjoy.
4. You do not have to have commercial kitchen experience to work in our kitchen. Basic home kitchen skills are perfect.
5. You can work one day a week. It doesn’t have to be a massive commitment, but we do need you to be consistent.
We have immediate (like, right now please) openings in our kitchen and on our retail team.
Maybe it’s you. Maybe it’s someone you know. Maybe it’s your mom or sister or neighbor. Please pass the word along.

Our Holiday Preview Party was a full success! Thank you to all of our early birds who came out to get their holiday ducks in a row.

First, mark your calendar for Thursday, December 1 and Friday, December 2. During business hours in both of those days, we are hosting our Holiday Open House. It’s a great time to stop in and place orders.
Second, our doors are open and our staff is available to help you with holiday reservations any time. Call or come by…we can’t wait to see you!
I love the smell of spiced cider simmering on the stove. Maybe you do too? We have added classic mulling spices, Martinelli’s Apple Cider, and steeping canisters to our market retail shelves.
The idea is simple. Fill the steeper with the spices and submerge it in a pot of cider (or red wine!) for a warm cup of seasonal cheer.
Not into drinking cider, but want to enjoy the smell of cinnamon and orange and clove? Simply boil a bit of the spices in a small pot of water to fill your home with the fragrance of fall.

Last time we sold out all our reservations in less than 24 hours. This time around, we are literally making twice as many...so maybe we will make it to Tuesday?

We are not open for business, but we had groceries on hand that we wanted to use up. We put together several of our King Ranch Casseroles that we will heat and have ready to give away tomorrow afternoon in the drive through.

Heart-shaped Cinnamon Rolls from Hurley House are the best thing to happen to Valentine’s Day since the candy gram.
Are they cute? Totally.

When the air is crisp and cool, and the leaves are changing, there is nothing like an Oatmeal Cranberry Cookie to bring home the flavors of fall.
Sweet dried cranberries, hearty oats, and chopped walnuts are mixed into a brown-sugar batter and baked to perfection.
One of my favorite seasonal favorites, the Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie Bar, is back in the Hurley House case!
Shortbread crust, sweet pecan-studded filling, and semi-sweet chocolate chips combine for a sublime, not-too-sweet dessert.
We have added three seasonal items to our bakery case. First up, the HH Peanut Butter Cookie!
With a soft center and a sandy texture around the edges, this classic peanut butter cookie hits all the right notes. To make it even more outstanding, we add peanut butter chips for added punch.
Each cookie is formed by hand, with the classic cross-hatch pattern on top and a generous sprinkle of chunky sugar. Available daily in our case!

Banana Pudding is here!! Cool, creamy layers of pudding, wafers, and sliced banana, waiting to remind you how satisfying simple pleasures can be. Our Banana Pudding comes in two sizes. Single-serving ($3) and 16-Oz ($6). Truly though, that 16-Oz has been known to never quite make it past the first person to dive in with a spoon. We are stocked and ready to make your week even sweeter!
There is a salad at Hurley House I want you to know about. The official name is our House Side Salad with Cider Honey Vinaigrette, but I call it love in a bowl. This is the side salad that pairs perfectly with any of our menu items, bringing a fresh pop of flavor that isn’t meant to steal the show. We have this salad all day every day, and for $10 it is the instant easy side dish you’ve been looking for. As an added insider bonus tip, I am here to tell you that I make a meal for one out of this salad at least once a week. Add a bit of chicken or an avocado, and this salad is everything I want for lunch. Pop by and pick op a few for your fridge. You’ll be glad you did.
The hero of the drive through lunch scene? Cobb Salad from Hurley House. Crisp romaine lettuce, cherry tomatoes, smokey bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, fresh roasted chicken, and our Basil Green Goddess Dressing. This salad is on our menu all day every day and comes with your choice of bagel chips (everything or cinnamon sugar) and a beverage for $10. In my professional opinion, if you’re not dipping your bagel chips in the left over salad dressing, you’re not really living. Make lunch delicious today!

Did you know we have Cinnamon Rolls as part of our daily bakery case? Did you know they freeze beautifully? Did you know this weekend is Mother’s Day? You probably already know they tend to fly off the shelf and get snatched up by eager reservation enthusiasts (our favorite kind of customer!)...but if you give us a call, your name can be added to the yes list for a pan of Hurley House Cinnamon Rolls. Each pan has seven rolls. The cost is $21 per pan. Have a lovely day!
Cake Cups are the best. Individual portions of cake, layered with swoops of frosting, and topped with a smattering sprinkles. Cake cups are packaged in a single, quarantine-friendly serving, perfect for porch parties or other socially-distant celebrations. The best news? They are in our case every day, turning our drive through window into one of the happiest places in town. 💗
Hurley House has a new normal. For the foreseeable future, we will continue to operate in all the familiar ways you have come to know and love, but with a few new rhythms. Our normal business hours will be Monday through Friday, 10:00 to 4:00. We will serve you solely in our drive-through window. We will offer one take-away menu every week. We will offer our Cheese Board Kits. We will serve lunch every day, including all of our trio options and our Cobb Salad. We will have a regular rotation of cookies, bars, muffins, scones, and cake cups in our case daily. We will have Cinnamon Rolls and Banana Bread daily (reservations encouraged!). And we will continue to model hospitality and equip you to practice it. This is the new normal at Hurley House...welcome home!
Mini Banana Breads are making an impromptu appearance in the case right now! Excited? Me too! I spent several weeks “practicing” to get the recipe just right...and I think we’ve landed on a keeper. If this goes well, maybe we will make this a regular part of our rotation. I just took ten of these beauties out of the oven. $6 per loaf. Perfect for sharing (or not), freezer-friendly, and goes really well with an iced coffee for an afternoon pick-me-up. Come and get them!

Every month inside The Table, the first week is always a Hospitality Challenge centered around learning to cook something new. I film these videos in my home kitchen (not a fancy studio), and the emphasis is on providing clear, detailed, easy-to-follow steps. I treat these videos as though you were standing next to me in my kitchen, watching. The goal is to guide you through the process of learning by doing, because we can only get better at things like cooking by actually cooking. When you enroll in The Table, the first three sessions are already waiting for you: Pot Roast, Chicken Pot Pie, and Spaghetti & Meatballs. Wouldn’t it be great to learn how to cook? Wouldn’t it be valuable to do this now? Wouldn’t it be awesome in three months to look back and realize all the strides you’ve made by jumping in and taking action? You can do this. Today on the Hospitality Hotline, we talked about practicing kindness, movies that are hitting the right emotional notes lately (including my reenactment of my favorite GOT episode ever), a quarantine menu plan idea, and enrollment in The Table. We laughed. We cried. We made it through another week.
For Easter this year, Hurley House is keeping it sweet, simple, and sprinkled! Reservations for our Easter Cinnamon Rolls are now open via email.
We are baking a limited quantity, with pans available for pick up every day this week.
Pop them in your freezer, thaw them at room temperature overnight on Saturday, and awake to the best Easter brunch treat on Sunday morning!
