We pushed ourselves last week and made our first gravity defying cake.
It's strange to need to go to the hardware store to buy parts for a cake!
His body is modeling chocolate and fondant, the head is lemon cake. All together he is about 18" tall.
Thank you to SugarGeek Show for the video tutorial. We did change a few things, but would have struggled with the structure without it!

I used isomalt (a sugar substitute like what is found in sugar free lollipops) to make the snowflake topper. I'm really enjoying working with isomalt!

How fun is this lava style cake with the birthday boy's favorite monster toys?!
The cake was covered in buttercream, airbrushed for the lava effect, then I added chocolate cake crumbs for the hardened lava rock look.
We dont do sheet cakes very often, but this one was an exception because of the fun effects.
Mountain high buttercream sprayed with edible sparkle. Yum!!!!

A perfectly posh princess party cake for the pretty princess's birthday party.
This cake has multiple types of sweets - isomalt (the type of hard sugar used in many lollipops), candy melts, fondant, modeling chocolate, sprinkles, and of course buttercream!
Bonus! The top tier is rainbow inside too!
This fun cake was a creation of the birthday boy's current dream cake.
He asked for a cake with his specific Roblox avatar that he created, on a jet ski, fleeing a shark. Just like in his Robloz SharkBite game.
It was a really fun one to make, tho the details took me a lot longer than I anticipated. More proof that I love what I do. I enjoy all the small details. But the best part was seeing his reaction when he saw it.
