Something y’all may not know about me is that my awkwardness, shyness, and anxiety almost stopped me from ever sharing my treats with the world.
I LOVE baking. I love experimenting in the kitchen, creating new flavors, and watching my kiddos enjoy something I made. But putting myself out there? That was a whole different story. 😅
I was scared of rejection. Scared that people wouldn’t like my treats. Scared that nobody would show up, nobody would buy anything, or that I would hear those dreaded words: “It’s too expensive.”
Sometimes, the fear of someone saying no is enough to make you never even try.
But my family, friends, and fellow vendors kept pushing me. They saw something in me and my baking that I was too afraid to see for myself. They encouraged me to stop keeping my treats to myself and give Marie's Doughlicious Treats a chance.
And here we are. 💚
Am I still awkward? ABSOLUTELY! 😂 Do I still get nervous before events? EVERY SINGLE TIME! Do I still question myself? More than I probably should.
But then someone walks up and tells me they came specifically to see ME and grab MY treats. Or someone returns to tell me how much they loved a cookie or cake. And suddenly, that scared little part of me gets a little braver.
I started Marie's Doughlicious Treats on faith and a prayer, but I keep going because of the people who remind me that what I create is worth sharing.
So if you're sitting on a dream because you're afraid of rejection or just dont think you have the time, I hope you give yourself some grace and a chance. You don't have to be perfect, known or the most outgoing person in the room to build something meaningful. BE YOU!
Sometimes, you just have to be consistent, show up scared and let your passion speak for itself.
Thank you to everyone who pushed me to start and everyone who continues to give me a reason to keep going.
With love, Marie 💚🍪🦋
