Oops…didn’t post a huge ”shout out”to my schools yesterday: Thank you for coming to Brookedale yesterday- New Creek Pre K, Frostburg Head Start & Early Head Start, and Spectrum!!
Today we welcomed Mt Savage Elementary and Allegeny College Head Start!! Thank you to our Mineral County Extension Agent, Cambria Snyder, for coming out and teaching the kids about bugs!! She even shared her bug collection with the kids!!

These were the littles - 2, 3, & 4 yr olds! They were so good! You know the teachers are passionate & good at their job because the kids had fun but were so well behaved!!
Today was the normal activities plus making a squirrel feeder!!🐿️🌽

Oh my goodness - look who it is!!! It’s Romney Middle School 6th graders!! A beautiful day to welcome them to Brookedale!! We set up some extra stations for our day together - thank you Jake Ritchie for doing a soil station & thank you 4-H members for teaching us about DNA of a strawberry at another station!!

Brookedale’s getting ready for our two schools coming in today to have some fun on the farm!!! This has been a great week with some awesome kids from Frankfort Middle, Kids Korner Centers, a couple Head Start classes & another today along with Fountain Pre K!! Thanks to all of our special helpers - Jake Ritchie, Brenda Bonser, Libby Boinovych, Maddie Hanlin, & Lucy Pancake - You guys are amazing!!

This years Annual Corn Maze is going on —- today!! Actually, every weekend through October 25th!!! Friday 5-8 pm, Saturdays 1-9 pm, & Sundays 1-8pm!!🌽
Brookedale has been hosting our annual corn maze since 2002, until my son, Derek & his wife, Megan took the weekend activities over! ❤️Their farm name is Pyramid Farm and you can find all the information about their weekend events on their fb page or website!!
We truly love that our next generation is keeping the farm ideals & agriculture education alive and at the forefront of what they do!!🌽❤️🐐🐮

A gorgeous day for our first school tour!!! ☀️We welcomed South Branch Elementary to Brookedale & what fun we had!! 🥰Boy, did I miss hanging out with the kiddos!! Thank you Cheyanne, Chrissy and Donnie for helping out today!! We painted pumpkins, took a hayride, seen the animals, started training the ducks to run around the track, played on the big playground & of course, went thru the maze!!🌽

Our Annual Corn Maze starts this Saturday September 19th from 1-9!!! Also open Sunday from 1-8 & then every weekend thru October 26 - Fridays 5-8, Saturdays 1-9 & Sundays 1-8! Managed by Pyramid Farm & held at Brookedale Farm!! As darkness sets in they are still working on new activities!!! Check out Pyramid Farm LLC fb or website for details!

Best wishes & congratulations to Kristi & Lucas on a wonderful future together!! A beautiful wedding & wonderful couple at The Stadell this past weekend!! The send-off was an amazing firework show done by Jordan Shaw. I would hire him in a heartbeat - probably the best firework show I’ve ever seen!!!
