Test your galaxy brain! 🌌 Can you spot the fake Star Wars trivia hidden in this crumb coat?

1. Jedi lightsaber blades are actually powered by rare Force-attuned crystals.
2. Yoda's species and home planet were purposely kept entirely secret by George Lucas.
3. Chewbacca's iconic roar is a custom mix of badger, bear, lion, and walrus sounds!
4. Stormtrooper armor was originally supposed to be made of real ceramic plates in A New Hope.

Drop your guess (1, 2, 3, or 4) in the comments. May the Force be with your guess! ⚔️✨

✨ Here’s the crumb coat stage for the 8-inch tier of our four-tier draped wedding cake. This layer is baked in our signature cozy spice flavor, getting all tucked in and smoothed out before the magic really happens. Watching a sharp, clean crumb coat come together is honestly one of the most satisfying parts of the process. Are you team sharp edges or team rustic texture?

It is officially my absolute favorite time of the year: wedding season!

🤍 Here, I am putting the smooth crumb coat on the massive bottom 12-inch tier of a stunning four-tier wedding cake.

As a cake artist, there is honestly nothing quite as satisfying as watching all the delicate design elements finally come together into one breathtaking centerpiece for a couple's special day. Every single step—from the very first crumb coat to the final floral placement—is an absolute labor of love.

Watch out, the Sticky Bandits are on the loose! We recreated Harry and Marv’s iconic "ESCAPED / Be On The Lookout" mugshot poster from Home Alone onto this custom birthday cake, complete with vibrant red vintage piping. Bringing classic holiday villain nostalgia to life has never been this sweet (or hilarious)!

Crumb coating a red velvet cake can get real crumby (pun intended), but trust the process! 🛑🧁

Skipping this step is a rookie mistake. Taking the time to lock in those rebellious red crumbs is the secret weapon to getting that buttery, perfectly smooth, crumb-free finish on your final layer.

Do you chill your crumb coat before icing, or go straight into decorating? Let me know below! 👇

Finished the wedding cake! There may or may not be sprinkles all over my floor, but it was 100% worth it.

Behind-the-scenes reality check: I definitely forgot to record a few steps, and honestly, this probably could’ve been one video instead of two. 😅 But we made it! Enjoy the hand-piped lettering and these satisfying close-ups.

Building a large two-tier cake! The vision: bottom tier leather, top tier blue with black flames. 🔥 After trying a couple of methods for the leather texture, the winner was definitely the dragon skin mold.

Fast-forward through the crumb coat! 🍰 Speeding through the most important step of cake decorating: trapping every stray sprinkle so our final frosting layer stays crystal clean and smooth. Funfetti brings all the joy, but a clean base coat keeps it professional! Drop a 🌈 if you love funfetti, and stay tuned for the final reveal! ✨

Part one: stack and coat! 🍰✨ Starting this wedding cake by smoothing on that soft sage buttercream base and getting every line crisp with the bench scraper.

Once the foundation is perfectly chilled and level, in go the support dowels before stacking the top tier. There’s nothing more satisfying than watching a multi-tiered cake come together step by step! Stay tuned for part two to see the final details and decorations.
