It truly takes a village, and Pie Safe Baking Company is open our normal business hours today!! 🥧 🌟 🍪
When a fire broke out on Monday evening three doors down from us, it left our bakery without power. We didn’t know how long the power would be out, but we knew it wouldn’t be back on until sometime the next day- meaning we had to make some quick decisions to save product. It ended up being out almost 18 hours.
Once emergency personnel allowed us to enter our building safely, we faced a devastating reality: we had to completely empty our freezers and coolers, or our entire inventory would be lost. As a small business owner, facing a total loss from something completely out of your control is absolutely heartbreaking.
But our incredible community stepped right in to save the day.

We owe a massive thank you to our Town Manager, Dr. Janet Mason, for quickly getting on her phone and coordinating emergency logistics.
A huge shoutout goes to the Forest City Fire Department, the Forest City Police Department and the wonderful staff of Butlers Jewelry and Loan!! These amazing first responders and neighbors rolled up their sleeves and did all the heavy lifting to move our products to safety. 🚒 🚓 💎
Most importantly, an enormous thank you to Julio for graciously opening his doors and letting us his walk in cooler across the street to keep everything fresh. ❄️
Because of their quick actions, our inventory was completely saved and our cases are restocked. Come by and see us today- we are incredibly proud to be apart of Forest City. ❤️ 🥧

Thank you to all the quick responding and hard working firefighters that have been working for hours to keep the fire at the old Farmers Hardware building contained. We also appreciate everyone who has reached out to check on us. Our team and building are safe. Our neighbors are in our thoughts as damage is evaluated. 💙

Dolly was known to enjoy pie for her birthday, rather than cake. Her favorite pie was an old-fashioned chocolate chess pie. There are people who shape the very culture and fabric of their timeline. Dolly was one of those people. Dolly embodied what we feel was the epitome of southern charm, warm, inviting, generous, kind to all those around her, things we can all strive for ourselves. The positive impact she had on the world around her, will be felt and known for generations to come. Today we are honoring Dolly in the best way we know how, with a slice of chocolate chess pie with a healthy side of southern charm. 🥧 🩷🌸

This weekend we will also be donating 25% of our proceeds for every slice of chocolate chess pie sold, to our local library system to honor Dolly’s legacy.

Try our newest caramel macchiato roll, inspired by the classic coffee favorite, this roll is layers of espresso infused brown sugar rolled into fluffy dough and topped with a caramel Swiss meringue. ☕️

In the case for a short time a classic blackberry pie is a wonderful way to enjoy the flavors of summer. ☀️

All your Christmas favorites will be in the cases, as long as supplies last.
Please note everything will be first come, first served this weekend with no call ahead holds.
