Well, Cookie Crew… this is a hard one to write. 🩷🍪
After a lot of conversations, a lot of thinking, and probably more butter than two people should ever see in a lifetime, we've made the decision to close the kitchen at Big Beach Cookies.
The hardest part about this decision is that you all have given us every reason to keep going.
For more than a year, Big Beach Cookies has grown beyond anything we ever imagined. You showed up at the markets. You sold us out. You placed online orders. You shipped our cookies across the country. You came back week after week and brought your friends with you.
And somewhere along the way, our little cookie business became another full-time job.
The only problem is… we already have those. 😂
For the past year, our lives have pretty much been our full-time jobs and cookies. Mixing dough at 4:00 am and after work. Baking at night. Packaging orders. Markets on the weekends. Shipping on Mondays. Then getting up and doing it all over again.
When we stepped away from the markets this summer, something unexpected happened.
We remembered what free time felt like.
We still filled a crazy amount of online orders, but for the first time in a long time, we had weekends. We had time together. We had time to do absolutely nothing—and apparently that's pretty great too.
It made us take a serious look at what we wanted our lives to look like going forward.
And as much as we love Big Beach Cookies, we've decided it's time.
But what a ride this has been.
We've met some genuinely wonderful people. We've made friendships we never would've had otherwise. We've had customers become regulars and regulars become friends. We've watched people stand in line at our tent, sell us out at markets, ship our cookies as gifts and tell complete strangers that they had to try us.
You took something we started in our kitchen and turned it into something real.
There is absolutely no way we could ever thank our Cookie Crew enough for that.
So, here's how we're going out:

There will be no more batches and no restocks.
If you've got a favorite you want one last time, grab it while it's there. Once a flavor sells out, it's gone. When the website is empty, the Big Beach Cookies kitchen is officially closed.
We're not sad that Big Beach Cookies didn't work.
We're incredibly proud that it worked so well that two people with full-time jobs could barely keep up with all of you.
Thank you for every order.
Every market visit.
Every share.
Every comment.
Every recommendation.
Every sold-out Saturday.
And every single person who became part of our Cookie Crew.
You made this little cookie company something we'll be proud of for the rest of our lives.
