I wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas! If you have followed my pie shop for any time, you have hopefully realized how important my faith in Jesus is to me. On this day, while my staff and my family are resting after a long two months, it is important to recognize the reason we celebrate this holiday. I'm so thankful the Lord sent His son Jesus to Earth. He was sent, not only to be fully God, but also fully human. So often in this life, when life gets hard, it's easy to forget that Jesus spent 33 years here on Earth too. So much has changed in this world since the time Jesus was here but so much of it hasn't changed at all.

We still deal with pain, loss, heartache, suffering, brokenness, sin, death, etc. While Jesus doesn't roam the Earth anymore, it helps me to know that when He was here, He walked some of the very paths I have had to walk. That brings me so much comfort because I find peace in knowing that He understands so much of what we go through.

So, while I know Christmas is supposed to be a time of joy and happiness, I know the sad reality that Christmas doesn't always bring that for everyone. It can be a time of a new normal if you lost a loved one this year. It can be a time of loneliness for people who find themselves without family or friends. It's a time of heartache for people who has lost jobs and relationships. It can be a time of burden if your finances don't allow you to celebrate the way you wanted too or hoped you would this year. But what I love about Jesus is that He knows what it is like to experience all of this. He isn't a God who doesn't know exactly what it's like to be us. He experienced loss, loneliness, heartache, betrayal, brokenness, suffering, torture, and most importantly, to us, a sacrificial death.

So wherever you find yourself today, whether happiness/joy or pain/heartache, find comfort that the Lord knows what it is like to feel all of those. He gifted us Jesus, so one day we didn't have to experience anymore loss and heartache. He gave His son Jesus to give us eternally life after this one. So the next time you pass a nativity scene, a sight we are all familiar with, take the time to remember that the little baby who was born in a manager on this day, was sent here to save us. That is something we can all celebrate regardless of where you find yourself today.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my pie shop throughout this busy holiday time. I wouldn't be successful without your business. I loved seeing so many faces during the holidays! I have an amazing staff that helps me survive the last two months. We all work very hard to make you delicious pies and I can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for us in 2025. Merry Christmas everyone and God bless you!
