A little peek at what's happening behind the scenes 🦋

Business cards are getting a makeover, and tonight's dinner is a little taste of what's coming to the cafe!

🍋 Greek Lemon Soup has a special place in my heart. My grandparents used to take me to this little diner growing up and we ALWAYS had to get the Greek Lemon Soup, no matter what the weather was! I've recreated that familiar flavor, and I absolutely cannot wait to share it with all of you! 💜

And LOOK what arrived!! Our new tables are here! We're bringing a little retro flare into our seating area, and I'm so excited to see this space come together. Can you picture it?!

Rachel’s Sweet Creations LLC will be at the Fernley Estates Trunk or Treat THIS FRIDAY!!! 👻🍬

You read that right, Fernley! We're joining in on the Halloween fun, and I am SO excited! 🧡

Now, before anyone asks… NO, I won't be selling goodies at this event! 😉 This evening is all about the kiddos, the costumes, the candy/toys, and making some fun Halloween memories! 🎃👻

BUTTTT… 👀🤔 I might have a little sweet surprise or giveaway up my sleeve! 🍭🧁 So you'll definitely want to stop by and say hello!

As a mama myself, I love seeing our community come together to give these kiddos a fun evening, and I'm happy to be a small part of making that happen! ❤️

And speaking of sweet things happening in Fernley… 🍰☕ Our bakery and café is getting closer and closer to opening its doors! If you've been following our weekly construction walkthroughs, you know just how much work and love is going into creating this space for our community. We're getting SO close, and I can't wait to welcome you all in! 🥹❤️

**A little behind the scenes of the big move! 🦋**

About a year ago, we started this whole process of transitioning from a Cottage Bakery to a Commercial Bakery & Cafe. And with that came the not-so-small task of acquiring all the commercial equipment that would eventually be needed to run our new kitchen.

I'm incredibly grateful for the friendships I've made along the way, especially one that came with a pretty great equipment hookup! Kim with The Rustic Bread Co. was making the same leap from home baking to a commercial space. She was fortunate enough to get her hands on an existing bakery, which meant she ended up with more equipment than she needed. After a few trips to Winnemucca, I was able to help her make a little room while bringing home some of the equipment that would eventually become part of my own bakery. If you're ever in Winnemucca, go give her a visit! 😉

Now, instead of paying for a storage unit for the past year, my wonderful husband rearranged our 3-car garage to make room for all of it. Then he rearranged it some more... and some more... and eventually, even the garage wasn't enough. By the beginning of October, we'd officially hit capacity, and I started expanding into the driveway. 😂

**But this week, it's finally happening!**

The big equipment is getting loaded up and hauled over to Rachel's Sweet Creations Bakery & Cafe! Some of the smaller items (pots, pans, POS system, and all those little things that somehow add up to a LOT of stuff) will stay at the house until next weekend when I can officially start moving everything into the space.

It's a little surreal seeing a garage that has been packed full for the better part of a year finally emptying out. All those pieces that we've been collecting, storing, and planning around are finally making their way to the place where they'll be put to work!

And my husband? He's more than happy to help load it all up... because apparently, getting his garage back is a pretty exciting milestone for him. 🤣

One step closer to opening the doors and filling this space with all the goodies you've come to know and love!

🥹❤️ One last market as a cottage baker… and a whole new chapter begins! 🧁✨

Tonight was my LAST market as a cottage baker! It was cold and a little bittersweet, but it was such a wonderful way to close this chapter. Seeing my truck loaded up with my market supplies one last time has me feeling all the emotions!

To everyone who came out tonight and everyone who has supported Rachel’s Sweet Creations along the way, THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart! ❤️ Every purchase, kind word, share, and bit of encouragement has helped make this next chapter possible.

And to all the new faces following our construction updates and sharing in the excitement of our opening — thank you for being part of this journey! 🥰

🤣 Do I take last-minute orders? Sometimes! 🙋‍♀️ Have I accepted TWO this week when I’m already drowning in bakery projects? Absolutely! 😂🙃 Sleep is overrated, right?! 🤣💤

Today was a busy day of waiting around 😔

🚛 Trucking company called last week to schedule a big delivery(fridge, sinks, ice machine etc). Gave me a HUGE delivery window(5 hours). Loaded everything up on the truck at 5am today....then NEVER LEFT THE TERMINAL and didn't have the decency to let me know till we called an hour after the window closed and when we asked to speak to a manager(because the person who answered had an attitude problem since he just got on shift) they hung up on us.

😡 To say I'm frustrated and tired is an understatement and now I spent a whole day waiting around for nothing and have to do it all over again tomorrow 😞.

📍 In other news my LAST Market as a Cottage Bakery is THIS WEEKEND! 10/24 3-7pm at The Meadows at Inglewood, where the Bakery & Cafe is being built.
