FINALLY — we’re hoping to reopen our Ferndale Shack within the next 2 weeks! 🥐✨Maybe earlier too!

It’s been a little quiet on our end, and I want to share why ——-Back in December/January, the health inspection process shifted to the county, and our annual permit jumped from $75 to $1,000 — along with required building improvements. Between covering those costs, making upgrades, and staffing, reopening just wasn’t possible yet.

On top of that, I’ve also been a caretaker for my grandparents over the years & currently navigating my grandpa’s declining health this past month — which has delayed timelines for all the right reasons. I’m learning how to balance showing up for family while continuing to grow this business in a sustainable way. ❤️ thank you for the grace & patience.

Now, with back and a little extra income coming in, we’re finally able to make the improvements to get the doors open 💛

If you’re able to support us in the meantime, our Fortuna location could really use the love — especially as we push through this final stretch!!

We wanted to take a moment to share something personal with our community.

Many of you know my partner Kyle as a familiar face in the bakery. Over the past year, he has dedicated himself to learning and mastering nearly every item we offer, continually refining recipes and helping us grow stronger as a business.

Kyle isn’t just at work— he’s a true partner to me in building this small business. He shows up alongside me every day, and his support, consistency, and care make it possible for me to continue doing what I love everyday.

Kyle is preparing for top surgery this August, and we are sharing his GoFundMe to help support him through this exciting next step and recovery. Just a little reminder—if you’ve got the dollars and you’re thinking about spending them, now is the time to spend local.

Patches’ Pastries is now hiring seasonal Baristas, Bakers & Friday Night Market sales staff for our Fortuna & Ferndale locations!

As we continue expanding our hours, events & menu offerings, we’re looking for friendly, hardworking people who are excited about coffee, food, community & creating welcoming spaces for others. Whether you’ve worked in cafés, kitchens, customer service — or you’re just eager to learn — we’d love to hear from you ❤️

Priority given to applicants with:
☕️ Espresso bar experience
🥐 Commercial kitchen/bakery experience
🛍️ Customer service or sales experience

What we’re looking for:
✨ Weekend & closing availability (weekend AM availability for our bakers)
✨ Positive attitude & willingness to learn
✨ Team-oriented people who enjoy fast paced environments
