Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads out there and these guys in particular (my brother Matt, my uncle Chris, my dad Bill, my husband Cody and my father in law Warren!) We had a lovely day at my parents house today. My mom did put Cody to work fixing the garage door and the lawnmower and installing an AC, a dad’s work is never finished as they say. Will throughly enjoyed playing with his cousins and we spotted an alligator on our golf cart ride.

Thank you all for another great week at the bakery and we’ll see you again on Thursday!

The birthday cake for my second Emmett of the weekend was this TWO WILD theme! It was inspired by the invitation that featured animals in party hats and the giraffe blowing bubble gum which I just loved and had to have on there!

You won’t see in the bakery helping customers or decorating cupcakes (he’s not what you’d call a “people person” 😂) but his work behind the scenes makes it possible for me to do what I do. Not only can he fix broken plumbing, move incredibly heavy equipment and navigate wedding cake deliveries he also has taken on more work at home. He does the dishes, the yard work, washes the laundry (I fold) and of course takes care of Will. I couldn’t ask for a better partner in life (and business!)

I had 2 cakes for boys named Emmett this weekend isn’t that funny? This first Emmett was turning 8 and requested a Harry Potter cake with the Sorting Hat, a wand, a golden snitch and books. I added the marauders map details because I love the little footprints and the saying “I solemnly swear I am up to no good” has always deeply resonated with me 😂 All buttercream except for one ball of fondant for the snitch!

Thank you for another great week! Felt weird to not be at the bakery this morning but I’m sure I’ll get used to it 😂
