Exciting Things Are Hatching in Fayette County!🐣

The Fayette County Ag in the Classroom Coordinator has been working hard behind the scenes planning some exciting new opportunities for students across Fayette County!

We are excited to share that Fayette County Ag in the Classroom received a grant from Farm Credit Services of America to purchase 8 chick hatching kits!🐥

These kits will give students the opportunity to experience the chick hatching process right in their own classrooms, from learning about the incubation process to watching chicks hatch and grow. Even better, these kits will remain in Fayette County and be available for classrooms for years to come! We are so excited to bring even more hands-on agriculture experiences to students and help them see agriculture come to life right in their classroom.

As our community takes time to celebrate Labor Day and recognize the hard work and dedication of those who help make our communities strong, the Fayette County Farm Bureau office will be closed Monday, September 7th.

We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, September 8th at 8:00 a.m.

Wishing our members, farmers, families, and friends a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend!

We’re so proud of three outstanding Fayette County seniors who were recognized at the 24th Annual Governor’s Scholar Recognition Ceremony on April 26 at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines!

Governor Kim Reynolds and Lt. Governor Chris Cournoyer honored 429 of Iowa’s top high school seniors, including these outstanding students from Fayette County:

Brock Soppe - North Fayette Valley
Caleb DeTemmerman - Oelwein
Emma Streif - West Central

Each Iowa high school was invited to select a senior student with the highest academic ranking at their school. Students selected for the award also had the opportunity to recognize a favorite or influential teacher who made an impact on their educational journey.

We’re especially proud to recognize Brock Soppe, a recipient of the Fayette County Farm Bureau scholarship recipient this year. It’s exciting to see our scholarship recipients continue to achieve great things!

Congratulations, Brock, Caleb and Emma! Fayette County is proud of your accomplishments, and we look forward to seeing all you accomplish in the future!

Fayette County Farm Bureau and Fayette County Ag in the Classroom will be at Euphoria Farmers Market on Thursday, August 6, with a FREE scavenger hunt for kids of all ages. Stop by our booth, complete the scavenger hunt, and take home a prize!
