Well, that was fun!
Last night's The 5th Annual: Asian Night Market was incredibly well attended, and I couldn't be more proud of my Asian heritage. A huge thank you to Chelsea Steffes and Mauricio for organizing such a wonderful event and creating a space that celebrates our cultures and community.
Today, I'm getting ready to plant some flowers and tackle the mountain of dishes left behind from all the baking. But before I do that, I want to share a few thoughts.
Yesterday reminded me exactly why I do what I do.
Seeing the joy on someone's face as they taste sourdough bread for the first time, watching people stop to admire and photograph my focaccia art, and hearing those wordsβ"Oh my gosh, this is sooo good!"βfills my heart in a way that's hard to describe.
Maybe that makes me a people pleaser, but bringing happiness to others through something I've created is one of the greatest rewards I know.
The long days leading up to an event like this, the 18-hour baking marathons, the sore feet, aching back, and exhaustion somehow fade away in those moments. They become worth it.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for coming out, stopping by my booth, sharing a conversation, taking a photo, trying my bread, and supporting my small baking business.
Your support means more than you know, and I am truly grateful.
I invite you, your friends and family to the next event on my calendar, The Arthur Market on June 13th from 10-2pm. Pictured here is the sourdough focaccia that I shared (free) to the market attendees.
