Getting to know “Sugar House”
Let me introduce myself... My name is Brittney Hill. I am originally from Tallahassee, FL but now live in beautiful Fairhope, AL. I am married to a police officer and we have 3 beautiful daughters: Kenzie (11), Emerson (3), and Meredith (1.5). They keep things entertaining...and loud!
Clients often ask how I started doing cakes. The answer is a little crazy...
When I was around 8 years old I took a few cake decorating classes and was immediately hooked. Even at such a young age, it felt natural to hold a huge bag of icing and turn it into art. My dream was to go to culinary school but life had other plans. I worked in the restaurant business for over 10 years before starting a bakery job. I learned a lot but longed for more artistic freedom!
When discussing returning to work after having the babies, my husband asked what type of job I was interested in pursuing. I responded, “Well, I want to stay home with the kids and make cupcakes all day!” His response was, “So?...Do it!”
