Looking back on the most special and most meaningful cake of 2022. Having the honor and privilege to craft my brother and sister in law’s wedding cake was definitely the highlight of last year for Chef Scrappy. Getting to do it alongside my beautiful girlfriend is a type of special that can only be felt.

Congratulations to and on your wedding!

In hindsight, it was probably crazy of me to agree to making a hexagon-shaped tiered cake, but I absolutely love the way it turned out. The marbled effect of the buttercream and flowers really pull it all together.

I think flower crowns are my favorite way to use florals on a cake, especially when they are destined for a birthday party.

This wedding cake is such a queen, she needs 4 crowns.
This design will forever be one of my favorites. I firmly believe a cake can never have too many florals, as they really create a stunning work of art and beauty.

And fun fact, this cake weighed close to 40lbs! That’s because I never skimp on the cake or the buttercream. I take great pride in ensuring that couples get the absolute most out of their cakes. It’s never a trivial expense and I want everyone to ensure they enjoy every single bite!

The first wedding of the year is in the books and this season is off to a strong start! I love how the bride and groom really have me a lot of creative freedom on this cake to create something unique and atypical. The three different textures on each tier and how the whole thing is intentionally off-center turned out to be absolutely stunning.

Oh, and fun fact, this cake weighed well over 30lbs and was so heavy my kitchen scale just read “ERROR” when I tried to weigh it! Congrats the happy couple!
