The first Calendula blooms of the season have arrived!
There are only a handful of flowers right now, but this is just the beginning. Before long, these plants will be covered in bright golden blooms.
Calendula has been treasured for generations and is often called the "skin-soothing flower" because of its traditional use in salves, creams, and other skin care preparations.
This year's crop has a very special purpose for me. I'm growing these beautiful flowers to make a homemade Calendula diaper cream for my first grandbaby, who will be arriving later this year. š©·
