Nanny G’s at the Covered Bridge Nanny G’s Bakery I’m thrilled for my bakery, Nanny G’s at the Covered Bridge, to be an established member of the Euharlee community.

I have met so many warm and welcoming folks. Baking is a true passion of mine and Nanny G's is literally my dream come true. I have been baking sweet treats for my friends & family for five decades. Now you can come be a part of the family, the Nanny G family! I love making my customers feel at home the moment they walk in the door. My goal is to make my bakery what you need it to be–something to

look forward to on the way to work, a bright spot when you come in after a tough day, or just a way to treat yourself. Like Cheers, but with cupcakes!

I don’t even know where to start—today was overwhelming in the best way. There are no words to express how much love and gratitude I feel for each and every one of you. I only wish I’d had more time to step away from the kitchen and soak it all in.

I started the day rushing, anxious, trying to get everything ready after only an hour of sleep. I knew y’all would come out in support, but I had no idea just how big today would be. When I glanced at the windows before opening and saw a few folks on the porch, I smiled—but when I opened that door and saw that HUGE line of familiar faces… I was absolutely speechless.

So many of you brought flowers, cards, and wrote lovely notes. I can’t wait to sit down and go through all the sweet messages and photos.

This bakery has been more than just a place to make sweets—it’s been a second home, a community, a family. Today was my last chance to give back to the people who have given me so much, and I will never forget it.

I’ll make sure to keep y’all posted on what’s next for Nanny G’s!

Hey, y’all. It’s Nanny G.

It’s with a heavy heart that I share this news—𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆’𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘆. It's not my choice—𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝘂𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲, and while I’m very sad, I’m grateful for every moment I’ve spent here.

These past few weeks have been really tough with the loss of my son, but your kindness and support have meant the world to me. Every message, every hug, and every kind word has been felt deeply, and I just want to say—thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I’ve been blessed to watch so many of you grow—from babies in momma’s belly to coloring in the kid’s corner & teenagers growing into young adults, coming by to proudly show me their first trucks.

I have loved learning about your lives, hearing about the different treats your grannies made you, and getting to know each of you by your favorite dessert (looking at you, "Bananny Cheesecake Man" lol).

And of course, I’ll never forget all the awesome suggestions y’all gave to make things extra special—like adding chocolate drizzle to the Best Cookie Ever (what a hero! 🍪) or putting white chocolate chips in the cranberry pecan cookies (genius!). Your feedback and ideas have always made this place extra special.

Dear Nanny G Family,

My heart is heavy as I share the passing of my beloved son, David Waits. This is a heartbreaking time for my family, and I will be closed this weekend to be with my loved ones as we grieve.

Please keep us in your prayers, and if you do one thing today, let it be this—hug your family a little tighter, tell them you love them, and don’t take a single moment for granted.
