A University of California, San Francisco study found that participants who consumed high-flavanol cocoa twice a day for 30 days nearly doubled their circulating repair cells and improved blood vessel function by 47%.
Researchers credit these benefits to flavonoids like epicatechin, which are known to boost blood flow and aid tissue repair. The results indicate that cocoa, far from being just a treat, may deliver tangible cardiovascular and regenerative health advantages.
