KING CAKE SEASON IS HERE!!!!

So what is a King Cake? The type we make is basically a giant oval cinnamon roll to share with your friends. A full (serves 8-12) includes a little plastic baby, and some beads and cost $25. The beads and baby come in a little plastic bag and you can insert the baby yourself if you choose to. We also sell a half and quarter for $14 and $8 (no beads to baby).

Its fun, King cake season really goes from Jan 6th to Fat Tuesday, Feb 17th this year, and you can eat one whenever you like. But most people celebrate with King Cake on Fat Tuesday.

I got to tell you, running this bakery has been such a blessing. The past few days have been so busy, and it is so fun to see so many people come in. We love you! We appreciate you and are honored to be part of your holiday tradition. I have been thinking especially this year just how much I rely on the people that have chosen to work here. They all bring so much to the table and it is truly a pleasure to work with all of them. Baking is hard work! Since Sunday mid day somebody has been at the bakery, prepping, slicing, baking, scooping, making sandwiches and everything in between. Thank you Eugene for the support and thank you past, present employees that have made this bakery what it is today.

We know it’s hard to not be deeply envious of our delicious bakery smells, but we kindly ask that you please don’t sabotage our building. On September 3rd, somebody vandalized the perimeter of our bakery with fart spray, including the vent to our mill room (a true petty crime)!

We can only assume that this was an act of pure jealousy; so in turn we have began production of a Great Harvest scented bathroom spray, with notes of fresh baked cinnamon rolls, warm sourdough, and tasty cookies (please see last slide for a product image)!

…just kidding 😉
