My name is Jennifer and I am the loving wife to my husband Lewis & mother to 3 beautiful children (Zach, Paul & Abby) plus one fur baby (Ella). During the daytime hours I run a virtual assistant business out of my home and bake cakes on the side. When I am not working/baking I enjoy spending time with my family and going to the beach to soak up all of the salt, sand, & sun!

Our Story and how it all started with a small gesture of gratitude...
Before we made our move to sunny Southwest Florida from the Louisville Kentucky area, we connected with our new neighbors through our Facebook HOA page while our home was being built. So many kind people went out of their way to send us pictures of our home during the process and we wanted to say thank you in a special way. That's when I decided to make them my families favorite rum cake recipe! After handing out the cakes, messages began to sprinkle in of inquiring where I purchased the cakes from, unbeknownst to them that my daughter and I made them. That's when a neighbor shared with me that our community has a Holiday Bazaar every year and that I should sell my cakes at it. Baking cakes and selling them was never part of our plan when we moved to Florida but my daughter and I love to bake, we love bringing joy to others, and what better way to show my daughter that she can create anything she wants if she's willing to do the work. So with the encouragement of our community & support of my family, Taste Like Paradise came to be a reality.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Will I become intoxicated from eating your cakes? A: From our experience, our family has enjoyed these rum cakes for many years without any alcohol induced side effects. You can find more information on cooking & baking with alcohol here: https://whatscookingamerica.net/q-a/alcoholevap.htm
Q: Can children or expectant mothers enjoy these cakes? A: Everyone has their own thoughts when it comes to consuming foods containing alcohol, please use your best judgement to decide what is best for you and your family. A: To keep baked goods as fresh as possible, keeping them cold will help them to retain their moisture. If you keep it cold, we recommend allowing it to come to room temperature for the best enjoyment. If you decide to leave your cake on the counter, we recommend enjoying your cake within 4-5 days...not to toot our own horn but we feel confident that it won't last that long! If it does however, we have had many customers who have had great success with freezing them for a later date.
